[One pending entry I'll just blog off chronology] =P

So, this is another backlog so it's a really long entry. You have been sufficiently warned. Luckily, there are pictures, unlike law textbooks and readings. So I hope it's more readable. =P Overview: Blog about The First Few Days of the Christmas Break.

Last Day of Class
Last Class
Our last class for the year was last Tuesday, 16th of December. The funny thing is, we didn't realise that it's the last class because our supposed last class was suddenly cancelled, not that we were complaining. The Dean gave us mounds of homework for the Holidays thou', as in, one might ask if it's the entire effing syllabus, but as the title suggests, it's "Third Week December Assignment".

Last class was fun. From illegal possession of teddy bear to learning courtroom tactics, I should really be planning to fit the studying in my Holidays schedule, because so far, my sleep patterns are ridiculously off, and I will explain it further.

Pre - Block Lunch
There was a demi-conflict here because some of our blockmates went ahead to Shakey's Katipunan. Some of us stayed back to help Patrizzi make crucial Christmas party decisions (block awards much? =P). Then, there was this awkward moment that when I read this back, "awkward moment" along with the keywords "red sea", "ridiculous laughing", "fave teacher" and "CK!", I'll understand what it is. [but I refuse to disclose the full details due to my right against self-incrimination]. After that, we wanted to lunch and somehow, UP-Ayala Land Technohub became an option. We had to make a crucial decision.

Option 1: Follow some blockmates at Shakey's Katipunan
Pro: Solidarity
Con: Katipunan traffic, Katipunan familiarity

Option 2: Go to UP-Ayala Land Technohub
Pro: Manageable traffic, Almost all of us were Technohub virgins [And the fact that the UP-Ayala Technohub aimed to be the Silicon Valley of UP D as it was for Berkley and Stanford]
Con: Non-class solidarity

Guess what won?

Block Lunch
When we got there, we camwhored!! Of course I'm not in the pictures, I'm in Pat Hernandez's photos and Pat Hernandez has her photos still in her camera memory.

But in any case, therefore, Anyway, we decided to Flapjacks because all the other options were in Katipunan. It was a pretty nifty restaurant. The staff was very accommodating [giving us red iced tea refills even if we ordered single-serving!], the payment was convenient, and they fit us.

For some celestial reason, it became my birthday, as in first thing people talked about when the maitre' d welcomed us was how it was my birthday. At the end of our meal, we were awarded chocolate chip pancakes and a happy birthday song. Oh joy. =P

Post - Block Lunch
Eva, Agatha and Patrick went home with me and we hung out for awhile. We watched Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, a film adaptation of the book dailysarcasm was lovin' in High School, Angus, Thongs and Full-frontal Snogging. I SUPER LOVE THIS FILM. As in I saw it last Sunday with my cousins, and watching it the second time around, all the jokes still got to me. It's an English version of Mean Girls with marvy wit and it's just so entertaining, nakakakilig, basta... THE BEST. Definitely on my Top 10 this year.

Agatha and Patrick left to do some Christmas shopping, so Eva and I bonded for five hours (watched the superb vampire film Let The Right Ones In, so much more beautiful the second time around). And then Lou, Jam, and Patrizzi came over, right during the best part of the film.

Midnight Wii Club
10 PM dinner much? But it was nice and cozy, listening to holiday songs. I think the biggest mistake I had though was drinking too much caffeinated soda. Anyway, Patrizzi and Jam prepared prizes and we decided to play the Wii. It became competitive.

By the time they went home, their arms were sore, and their competitive spirit busted when Patrizzi's brother, JM, owned them over tennis as he was (also) a first timer. Ho ho ho.

After they left, the caffeine took over so I wasn't able to sleep. Swept the house clean and Internet-d myself to sleep. Wheeeeeee. (Why is it so easy to pull up an all-nighter, slept at 4:30 A that day, when I don't need it????)

I'm Dreaming of a UP Christmas
One More Chance
I haven't seen this film even if it was last year, so I decided to give it a shot. The awkward part is, I watched it with my dad, and there were parts that I swear I could cry and I was getting pissed because my dad was there. I couldn't look at him but I could swear he was sniffling. WUUUUUUH. I didn't like it. It was too... relationshippy. There's an element of commonness to it. It's not like Dreamboy or A Very Special Love or Close To You. But it was all right I guess.

Lantern Parade
I got in relatively late, mga 5 PM na. I was supposed to watch with UPDS, but seeing the difficulty of reaching them, as you can see in how thick the crowd is.

So I hovered around until I bumped into my Block D twin, Inez Cortes and her blockmates. They're a crazy bunch, and they "adopted me". Simulated birth na lang daw, unless Tony Oposa and Clara Buenaventura give me the continuous status of child as a natural child. We ♥ Ma'am Beth.

As for Lantern Parade, FA's was always the superb-est. They adapted a Circus theme, Britney Spears much? I got candy!

I also bumped into Patty Lazatin who was looking fabulous and screaming around with the CMC float. ^__^

A2012 Pre-Christmas Party
When I got back to Malcolm Parking Lot to rendezvous with the blockmates, Ags and Patrick were there, as well as Jabie, Ron and Cels. Cels was wearing all-black and that got me curious (coz it was a semi-Costume party, fantasy theme dapat). People kept on piling in, and we hitched a ride with Stella Libanan in her Starex, which I didn't notice, had an 8 plate number. The entire trip, we played the Kris Aquino Complex Game, and let's just say Fatima Macanan had really interesting questions and answers. =P

Christmas Party
Food: Was Okay.

Games: Absolutely Marvy! We had a marshmallow-eating contest.

Relatively tamer games were Newspaper Dance...

...and a toothpick-Polo relay.

Finally, the best game was definitely Trip to Bananalethlehem. Mechanics? Well, I know I played games with bananas before, but this one was slightly different. The boys were the "chairs" and they had their hands cupped below the belt. The girls were holding bananas and danced around the boys. Once the music stops, they have to insert the banana in the boy's cupped hands. The girl who didn't get her banana in is out. =P

[disclaimer]This game was NOT my idea.[/end disclaimer]

Others: Awards, was uh... kulang! Pero okay lang, since I won!!! I'll keep the details of my victory in my ambit of privacy, but of course blockmates could overthrow that. There was also raffles, and the Chocolate Truffle Mochi was just the best!!! AHHHHHH!!!

Exchange Gift: WAS THE BIGGEST SURPRISE. Originally, I wished for reload of my CBTL Swirl Card. I was thinking, I'd ask my Secret Santa pick it up at the back of the classroom, I'll tape it to the door. Then I realised I'll just assign it to someone, so I gave it to Agatha Ramos.

Two days after, Ags said my Secret Santa picked up the card. Of course I tried finding out who it was, but she didn't yield. Patrizzi also knew who it was but she didn't tell me that bit either.

And then the day before the Christmas party, after Ags and Patrick left my house, Ags texted me a couple of hours later and told me that my Secret Santa texted her asking for alternatives because my Secret Santa "doesn't read my blog". I told her I don't mind getting Kate Torralba opaque tights in turquoise.

And then during Exchange Gift time, it turned out that the weirdest of all weirdness, AGATHA WAS MY SECRET SANTA!!! Hahaha. Siyempre meron pa siyang sinasabing di raw niya sinunod yung wishlist, but nooooo, that was just to throw me off pala.

Ags's gift to me! Thanks so much!!!
Another highlight at this point was Cels giving her gift to Eva, our divine entity in class. She also put a "Happy Birthday" card instead of "Happy Christmas".

Celine's Offer to God. I chose this picture because I'm there. Taken from Bambi again.
And, here's to a toast to our block! (Hoping for more Christmas parties to come with us together)

End Note of the Day
I went home, slightly uh... weirder than usual. I couldn't stop talking about my angst in the Philippine political system with the cab driver, who was very accommodating about my non-stop yakking. It so happens na kababayan niya pala si Jun Lozada, and so was Jokjok Bolante and Chiz Escudero. I also hate how I drank two Starbucks things this week. Anyway, the point was, when I got home, I couldn't sleep coz I forgot to have the dark cherry mocha decaffinated, I actually had to read Morals, Markets and the Law to sleep.

Holiday Reality Check
A few hours after the Christmas Party (or the morning after, however way you put it), I went to collect my readings for Consti 2. Of course, what was available was only 2/5s of the assigned stuff, and it already had 31 cases, and they were LONG. As in nobela-length yung iba talaga. I hung out at IDEA so I got to chat a lot with Bryan and Renz while I stapled my cases. I didn't stay for lunch thou' because I met up with Patrizzi and Jam to run their errands and they dropped me off at home because Patrizzi came to collect her green wallet thingy that she left in my house the night we played the Wii. We also lunched at Kourtyard Kafe in Katipunan (no alliteration intended). The food was okay but the servings were so small. The location was nice, but the modern, contemporary interior needed more life, although there were marks of it already with the lomo photo wall near the counter.

And then I slept the entire afternoon. And now I'm up and my Thursday Shows are done downloading. Yay! [8:23PM @ 18 Dec]

Nash's Birthday Luncheon
Well, I decided to append this part of the last four days. Met up with Nikko and Diana. Then Yana, after 39,859,093,085,930 years of not showing up, showed up! We waited an hour before Nash came, and since it was Friday, we had lunch at Friday's! Oh diba. And as per Friday's tradition, they had the scandalous birthday song again. It was such a happy catch-up lunch. ^__^

Really hoping it will be a productive yet fun Holidays. ^__^
