So my Blockmates are watching Twilight already, it opens today in Manila, while Nikko and Kat, my lovely Econ/Debsoc/MAC friends invited me to watch Ploning as well, with a matching meet & greet with Judy Anne. To be honest, I'd rather watch Ploning because I missed the regular screening plus, I want to see the future of our Oscar-nominated film, and in general, had more positive reviews than Twilight. As you've known, I've been sucked up into Twilight fandom (in my class, it's so easy to rant over Bella's stupidity when you don't know if you should read Criminal Law cases or Obligations and Contracts cases first), and I must say ...
about three things I was absolutely positive First, Robert Pattinson is Edward Cullen.
Second, it's a part for him - and I knew how potent that part would have been to his career/reputation - that sadly only showed his lack of acting prowess. (Think Hayden Christensen in the Star Wars Prequel. A lot of media/fan attention, v. disappointing acting)
But third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him. ♥
Okay, pilit, so go burn me at the stake or throw me crosses. I don't know.
(OMG, I just IMd Patty "
woodycakes Lazatin, kamusta naman four times na niya napanood! LoL)
Anyway,
bibimbap has been plurking about
Wikimapia, and it's pretty interesting (I know this has been around for awhile, pero ngayon ko lang siya nakita eh =P).
See it looks like Google Earth,
And more
Pop-up after clicking on the highlighted house
It's interesting how the whole world is now annotating their contemporary planet. Merong mga annotations like "School tambayan" or "Bahay ni labs". Defining the world, in the most literal sense.
Google Earth + Wikipedia = Wikimapia
So...
Web 2.02 = Web 4.0
I know that seemed mathematically unsound, but the combination just has such an exponential effect to how the Internet defines our lives. Yes, it's pretty cool and nifty, but as you saw in my comment about my house, I just renounced my right to privacy. There's a permalink in that annotation, a PERMANENT LINK that tells the whole world, hey, this is where I live. It gives you the exact coordinates. It even shows you who lives around me. Mrs Bugaoisan's house was just labelled "B's house" and Mr Lozada's house was placed on the map too. My brother went ballistic when he saw the Superliner terminal right behind his school and even more when he saw that there was really a cemetery as well. The point is, even if these tiny discoveries may be trivial, it could be very much potent to the next terrorist.
On second thought, sino ba naman ako para gawing target yung coordinates ng bahay ko ng terrorists? Dapat mas matakot pa ako sa stalkers, pero sino nga ba na naman ako para magkaroon ng stalkers? I apologise for the verbal diarrhoea. I'll just do my homework now. =P Remember: Define Your World... Carefully. ^__~
