Considering the possibility of thinking about potentially, perhaps/maybe trying Madrigal in the future. Discuss....

I really think it depends on what you like from your larp experience. I would certainly encourage anyone to try another larp with an open mind, primarily because I think trying different larps will make for better larpers and make us generally more "well rounded" when it comes to our hobby.

Originally I was going to make a pros and cons list, but that might be too long. Lemme sumup. First let me say that I love Madrigal. I adore the staff, many of the players, and the stories that I have been able to witness and be a part of. It is now the game that I love to play. You've probably heard a lot of the pros about the game: rich world story, great game system, immersive atmosphere, good playerbase, creative staff, etc. Some of the cons you likely don't hear about a lot.

ladymerase is right about a lot of the cons of the game, although I have a slighly different view of some of her points. Secrets are a large part of Madrigal and because of the "if you know oog you can know ig" rule, a lot of people actually keep IG secrets a true secret. This is a large source of frustration in my experience as well. I also have accepted it as part of the game and am trying to slowly embrace it and have decided to view it as a challenge. If I want to know something, I will work that much harder to find out what I want to know. Generally though I'm just enjoying the atomosphere, time with my fellow PC's and learning bits and pieces of old world history as I go.

I'd be happy to share some of the things that I do to make sure I have a better time at the game if you'd like. It might even help with Numina too (although you won't have the same sorts of problems hopefully).

Also having said all of that, from hearing you talk about Mirror, Mirror on Sunday it seems like you really have a full plate already with fun larp/reenactment obligations! See how you feel after the summer is over after participating in all of these events and see if you're still up for it. You might find that it's too much and a trip up north, while fun, can be draining and time consuming.
