More random thoughts.

I was thinking that perhaps the most awe-inspiring things are those that are basic necessities for supporting life.
Without plants and animals, we couldn't eat.
Without the moon, the seasons and the weather patterns, we'd have no seasons to guide our biorhythms.
Without the ocean, the waves and the tides, fish and amphibians wouldn't have been stranded on the ground.
If the earth didn't have a liquid magma core that caused the occasional volcanic eruption, we'd not have continents, and the water-mass would by and large be spread evenly over the surface of the earth.
If we didn't have the northern lights - and thus no magnetic bias to the earth, or ionosphere - the stellar radiation that bombards the earth wouldn't be deflected and absorbed, and we'd never have had the opportunity to to grow stable cells.

Hmm. Strange thoughts.
