Have finished and submitted the Evil Assignment due today (an RFP for an EDRMS- and if you don't know what either of those is, be grateful). I unabashedly borrowed bits from a BC gov't one I found online (yes, I put a note at the end to acknowledge this) because why reinvent the wheel? I just hope I didn't leave out anything vital, and that this is basically what the prof wanted, because the assignment instructions were, hm, rather general (par for the course in this class). Have started on (smaller) assignment due Tuesday noon for other class; there is also another big assignment due a week from Monday, GAH. So I will probably be coming back and working on the Tuesday after dinner, although for at least part of it I will have to look at a printed source rather than an online one, which I will have to do Monday afternoon. And oh yeah, I have a bunch of reading, plus discussion posts to make, also by Tuesday.
Tomorrow will be all about the grading. Joy. There's lots I like about teaching - I actually enjoy writing up lectures, discussion questions, assignment info, and being in the classroom running discussion and giving lectures, and talking with students generally - but as y'all know I loathe loathe loathe grading. Seriously, it's a mental block; once I start in on a batch I'm usually okay, but getting motivated to do that is extremely difficult for me. On Monday night, though, I will be showing a film to the undergrad history club which should be fun (Kingdom of Heaven).
Also did the grocery shopping today, though SO did a couple of other errands (picking up dog food, for instance). Now going to go start working on the
Greens and Herbs Tart we're having for dinner, since it takes a while. It's going to be more a side dish than a main dish this time, along with turkey sausage for SO and pulled pork for me, plus pureed turnip/potato/carrot, and pomegranate for dessert.
Oh, and I shall pimp again the
3fan_holidays ficlet fest!
Signup post is here; so far there's only 3 folks signed up, plus me. *makes puppy dog eyes* C'mon, you know you want to write a holiday drabble or ficlet for someone and get one in return!
