I'm quite chuffed to have made it into the Mithril Award finals with "Sheathing Sting." My one Hobbit story, how appropriate!
Mind you, I have a permanent skepticism of any awards for any purpose whatsoever, but that doesn't prevent me from being pleased. I nominated only one story - by someone else - and I don't intend to vote in the Readers' Choice part as I haven't read all the stories (not even all in any category, as far as I recall) and don't think it right for me to vote otherwise. It will be interesting to see the results all around.
