Olive wands tend to choose the witch or wizard who possess above average intelligence, not to mention often an overactive imagination. Olive wands are also a favorite of healers and are especially good not only for healing but also for protective spells. Many believe the bearers of Olive wands to be good at decision making - but this is not necessarily so. The owner of an olive wand may be decisive but that does not mean their decisions are the right ones. On the other side of the coin they may be so busy worrying about what is right that they are unable to ever reach a conclusion.

The gryffon originated in Greece, having the head and front legs of an eagle, but the hind quarters of a lion. Gryffon feathers are used in wands of wizards or witches who possess great strength whether physically, magically or emotionally. These wands are especially good for both offensive and defensive magic.
Long day today. Had four students come in to talk (not, of course, during the actual office hour) for a total of about 1-1/2 hours. Had to go to a talk by a visiting speaker which at least was interesting though I know nothing about the topic.
But the really exciting bit was hitting some anonymous object on the freeway this morning on the way in (not an animal, I couldn't see what it was in the dark) and having my car promptly make really awful noises. So I pulled over to look, and the tire seemed fine and the bumper wasn't falling off or anything. But there's some underneath-ish bits in the wheel area that are loose, and tending to bump into the tire and create said awful noises. I kind of poked at it and the noises are less now, at least. *sighs* I suppose I should get it looked at, but goodness knows when I'll have time.
Tomorrow, doctor early in the morning, and then a meeting up on campus in the late afternoon. Feh.
