Home again, home again, jiggety jig
So in less than three hours I'll be off to the airport and headed for home. Here's hoping that there's no trouble with weather or mechanics; even if all goes to schedule my flight into Home City is supposed to land at 11:59 pm, after all.
Yesterday I got to see two of my cousins; both were coming through town en route north, one with his girlfriend and the other with wife and kids, and they just happened to all overlap. So that was fun. Hadn't seen any of them in a year and a half and had never met the (long-term) girlfriend before at all.
We tried to acquire my mom an iPod as well, so that I could show her how to set it up, get music on it, etc. before I left, but unsurprisingly the Radio Shack in town had none, and although the very helpful guy behind the counter called the other stores in the valley, they were all out. So she'll wait and go back and I'll try to walk her through the process by phone. She's pretty good with basic tech stuff and has had home computers since the 80s, but I'm always the resource person for setting up new stuff, for her and sometimes my dad and even occasionally my sister still.
Posted the next-to-last 3fan_holidays fic today. *nudges* There's a wide variety of fics over there, so go read and leave the authors some love if you haven't! (Yes yes, I haven't commented either... tomorrow, hopefully, after I post the last one.) And last night I did the year end fic meme and about fell over at realizing just how much I'd actually written, in terms of numbers if not word count. I really should keep more of a running tally this year.
