Weekend list

So, what have I done since leaving work on Friday?

  • went to meeting/reception thingie for Women's Studies, which was pretty good
  • had Ethiopian food with SO -- yummy and very reasonable and next time we won't get an appetizer because there was more food than we could eat
  • finished prepping for civ class and for upper-div class for next week
  • read book for upper-div class next week
  • grocery shopping -- two stores this time, since we'll be gone for several days
  • went to see Happy Feet, enjoyed it though it wasn't a world beater (saw the OotP trailer, too, yay!)
  • wrote two drabbles
  • did two loads of laundry as I didn't want to risk a couple of hang-dry things not being dry by Wednesday if I washed Tuesday as usual
  • worked about an hour in the garden, planted iris bulbs and started digging bed in back for daffodils (hopefully finish that Tuesday)
  • made yummy fried rice for dinner
  • wrote about 600 words on third holiday fest fic
  • talked to my maternal unit for about an hour
  • worked up and sent out the assignments for 3fan_holidays
Pretty productive. Between now and noon on Wednesday I need to:

  • read another book for the upper-div class, for the following week, and work up some discussion ideas on that
  • revise a lecture for the upper-div class for the following week
  • write up the study guide for the final in the civ class
  • finish the third holiday fest fic, ideally also edit and send off (though I can do editing while traveling and send when I return if necessary)
  • finish digging the flower bed, plant daffodils, figure out where to plant bluebells and crocuses and plant those too
  • cook tomorrow's dinner (easy: sausages, oven fries, salad, and broccoli most likely)
  • teach four classes
  • check Seattle weather and pack suitcase accordingly (don't forget to take holiday drabble prompts and additional fest fic info)
  • doubtless other things will crop up too!
But overall I think things are under control. This is good... it bodes well for inward calmness over the holiday, despite travel and family visit stress.
