So I had the extraction last week, which (naturally) became more involved than expected, i.e. my tooth did NOT want to come out, so it took about twice as long and required removing the crown from the tooth next to it as well. Sigh. Also they could not use the dissolving sutures, so I will be going back next Tuesday to have those removed. It pretty much does not hurt now, thankfully, unless I actually touch the spot with my tongue or something.
I finished the prescribed antibiotics this morning, which I mention because those might possibly account for the fact that I have been dizzy since I got up today (11 hours now). Basically I feel slightly dizzy even sitting still, but moving, standing up, walking, whatever makes me more dizzy. It would be kind of weird to have that side effect NOW, though, at the end of a week of taking them, or so it seems to me. Extended dental procedures apparently can also cause dizziness and cause "Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)", by dislodging the otoconia (basically debris in the inner ear), and so can some yoga positions... but again, the extraction was nearly a week ago, and I went to yoga practice on Monday night, but the dizziness didn't happen till this morning. A FB friend suggested that it could be a migraine symptom... I do get headaches, but not migraines afaik (at least, I've never previously had a headache that seemed to correspond to typical migraine symptoms).
So I have no idea what's going on except that once again my body is failing me. Bah. The dizziness isn't so bad I can't DO things, like walk the dogs, or get my work done, and I would probably be okay to drive, but it's very disconcerting to say the least. I guess I will give it a few days to see if it goes away or gets worse, and if it is the latter, I will have to go see someone about it. Probably start with my regular GP and see what she says or who she'd recommend I see.
It's also the first week of the semester at my uni, so we're quite busy helping new students figure out where things are, how to print, etc. I've already done one instruction session and have 4 more scheduled over the next several weeks, which is about average for me. Also trying to wrap up or work on a couple of projects, one being to correlate our VHS and DVD holdings so we can either withdraw or at least put in storage any VHS-format items for which we also own the DVD. It's been a long and tedious process, but the end of that one is in sight, thankfully, as we desperately need more space on those shelves.
