I went on Saturday to the annual semi-reunion of my library program, at which there is also the induction and business meeting of the honor society, followed by a speaker and dinner. It was fine as these things go; I am just not the networking-and-chitchat type, so I am never wholly comfortable. I figure that the whole concept must have been invented by a real extrovert. But there were a few people I knew slightly so I was able to talk at the reception and sit with them at dinner. (The one person from my own uni who had planned to go was unable to at the last minute, sadly.) My SO did not go with me; I figured that he wouldn't be that interested, and paying an extra $40 for his dinner didn't seem worth it.
First CSA: I'm doing this from memory so I might miss something. We got: arugula, spinach, one bulb of fennel, two small lettuces, radishes, two bunches of green onions, garlic chives, and dill.
Had part of the spinach last night, along with Indian-spiced turkey burgers (new recipe, so not online), sweet potato fries, and grapefruit. Tonight (after yoga) we'll have
chicken in groundnut sauce and
brown rice, both of which I made yesterday, plus broccoli. Tomorrow there is leftover
pizza, and then we'll have turkey burgers once more and the groundnut chicken once or twice more, depending on how much there is. I'll probably make a salad from the lettuces and maybe some arugula, too. The fennel I might hang on to and grill along with the green onions next weekend (plus maybe some mushrooms, peppers, and/or other veg). Oh, and I'm having
kalua pig for lunches this week; needed to make a little space in the freezer.
I even wrote a little bit today during my lunch break. Go me.
