We needed a different cut appearance why? I mean, it's not the end of the world or anything (although I gather it's screwing up polls somehow? not running any just now so I can't tell), but when something is working, it seems so much more sensible to leave it the F alone.
*grumps*
On the positive side of today, I was given three, yes, THREE drabbles/double drabbles from
iulia_linnea, whee! And they are all, of course, fabulous. "
Time Well Spent" is Ginny/Luna, G; "
In Trade" is Aberforth/Severus, PG13; and "
Early in the Game" is Minerva & Poppy, G. The latter two are especially awesome as being great possible backstory. *g*
Work is actually calming down some, phew. The master's thesis defense on Friday went well, the student passed, so good for her. I also manageed to see/chat with some of my former colleagues, both in history and at the library, and have lunch with one person, and still get back to work by the time I had indicated I should make it - go me.
Errands today per usual; six loads of laundry as I am washing some blankets etc. SO had to make a brief appearance at a student honors society conference (attend a session that one of the students from his department was presenting in; sadly there was a mixup and he had the wrong time, but he did at least see the student and wish hir well), and then met several other students at the art museum to see the exhibit that he and I went to last week, on upper-class European culture (this tied in with one of the courses he is teaching this term, and coming to the exhibit may have gotten them extra credit but was not required).
Meals this week will include:
turkey madeira (using the last of the leftover turkey breast), rice, broccoli, grapefruit, a baked cod dish with peppers and onions and tomatoes, green beans,
Mexican red rice,
chicken a la Veracruzana, and salad. I'm actually making the chicken and red rice today, since we'll eat those Monday and Monday is yoga night, so having something ready that just needs reheating is the way to go.
Tomorrow I see The Hunger Games! Initially the plan had been to see it today, but my friend's daughter ended up having a birthday party to attend today, so we switched. That will mean we will not be attending the community meal this month, sadly, but we did see a lot of those folks last Sunday at the pizza get-together next door.
FYI, for those of you who know my geographic location, the big storm system that went through here yesterday dumped over 2.5 inches of rain at our house, plus some baby hail, and there was and still is a lot of wind; apparently the sirens went off last night about 2:30 am but neither SO nor I heard them, and nothing much happened here but the rain. There's now a wind advisory in effect until midday tomorrow, and there's another system drifting in the neighboring state, but as of this moment we do not even have a tornado watch much less warning for our area tonight. Our neighbor across the street dropped by a little while ago to remind us that they have a basement, if it comes to that, which was awfully nice of him.
