CSA this week had: spinach, garlic scapes, a bunch of carrots, a bunch of radishes, a small head of broccoli, arugula, a handful of green beans (yeah, really, 1 small handful - bzuh?), rosemary, 2 small leeks, 3 green onions.
The leeks will hang out till next week, along with the beets from a couple of weeks ago (hoping for more still). I bought some additional beans at the grocery store. Made
saag with garlic & raisins last night, also mashed potatoes and
black pepper ribs for me,
herb-roasted chicken breasts for SO. Since I had the oven on, I also made
roasted carrots which used up this week's and last week's. Tonight I'm rubbing chicken breasts w/ rosemary and grilling them along with a vidalia onion and a red pepper, chopping all up, and tossing with steamed broccoli, fusilli pasta, sauteed minced garlic scapes, and some pesto from out of the freezer. I'll probably add a salad to that, but it's pretty much a full-meal dish (no recipe, just doing it as described).
Yesterday was the usual yoga, laundry (5 loads), shopping/errands, plus the above cooking. Today I woke up quite late - after 9:30 - and after breakfast spent 4+ hours in the yard. Weeded, thinned plants, trimmed some bushes, mulched, picked up branches and Juno piles (so SO could mow)... yeah, lots to do. Then I had very late lunch, showered, and took a nap. I'm going to be sore tomorrow, I can already tell. It's been in the 90s already the past couple of days and will continue for several more. Blech. There's also definitely stuff pollinating in a big way because my eyes are gloppy. Double blech.
We have to do some joint errands tomorrow morning (legal stuff), so I won't be going to work until after lunch; I just hope that we're done by 12:30 so I can get there by 2, as per my leave request. If it's later than that it's really not worth driving in, but OTOH I don't want to take more hours of vacation if I can avoid it.
I know I owe several comments, plus a tag... hopefully after dinner I will still be awake enough for some of that!
