I *know* this was a weekend, but wow, busy...

Dec 12, 2010 21:12

CSA: spinach (already eaten), turnips, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, red cabbage, some tomatoes, broccoli, and a bonus jar of rather thin red pepper jam (which hopefully SO will like). I made cabbage rolls yesterday with last week's green cabbage - added some more herbs and garlic to the mix, so we'll see how that is tomorrow. Also made turkey spaghetti sauce. Most of the weekend's cooking was for the holiday party we gave this afternoon: curried chicken tartlets, sherried mushroom tartlets, shrimp dip, salmon dip, chickpea spread, molasses crinkles cookies, hot spiced cider. SO made saffron buns and did most of the cleaning (although I cleaned the bathrooms).

As well as the cooking, I went to ten different business establishments for various reasons yesterday, ran five loads of laundry, and also attended a holiday party for a couple of hours - pretty enjoyable considering I know the hosts only slightly (SO knows one of them rather better) and did not know any other guests. Ours today went pretty well too. And oh yes, Juno now has the staples out of her leg and the cone off, and is very happy about that (as are we)!
