"Good times for a change"

Just got a call about one of the academic-library positions; not a librarian position, but the circulation-manager one. The woman I spoke to indicated that they were going to be posting several actual librarian positions soon and warned me that if I were offered and took this job, I couldn't apply for any of those until I'd been in the job at least 6 months. She also let me know the salary, which hadn't been in the ad and is fairly low. BUT this is the uni that is literally about one mile from my house... so convenience would make up for a lot. And it's full-time so would have insurance benefits etc. Anyhow, not a guarantee yet I'll even be interviewed, but it sounded like she would probably call back to set one up for next week (and I told her Thursday would be the only day I could manage). So, yay. Call-backs are good! [And I will be looking for those job postings, too, and apply.]

My student who defended this morning passed, again a high pass. *beams* I have about 20 more pages of comma-taming to do for hir before I can leave, but that's it for the defenses then. Just two PhD orals next week, and for those I don't have huge theses to read.

Also I have recorded the list of all the books I have on campus so I can take that home and get SO to pick out which ones he wants to keep. He'll be going off titles/authors, but that should be ok. He's familiar with a lot of them anyhow.

Did not get any grading done, but piff. Only one set should have been finished by tomorrow anyhow, so I'll apologize and get them done by Monday. Likewise no prep done, but I have only 2 courses' worth to prep for next week since the third will be doing in-class presentations all week. Can probably do it tomorrow as I don't seem to have anything extra scheduled, phew.

Even got some fic-dictation done this morning, to the tune of about 1000 words, and I might be awake enough to do more on the way home. Plus, posted a drabble:
