Typical busy teaching day

Mar 31, 2010 17:39

  • did a little grading (was almost late for class, finishing up w/ one paper)
  • taught two classes (discussion today in both, plus a quiz in one)
  • ate lunch and read one PhD comprehensive exam
  • taught third class (this one was lecture)
  • read another comp exam
  • did a little more grading, recorded today's attendance etc.
  • prepped two classes for next week (almost entirely; have to scan a document and do some uploading)
  • also dealt w/ email, chatted w/ colleagues, made appointment w/ students to see me Friday, the usual stuff
So I am now heading home. Grading tonight, more grading and reading of/commenting on thesis drafts tomorrow. Luckily I managed not to get stuck doing a write-up of the scholarship stuff from earlier in the semester; another committee member is going to do that.

Also luckily Juno was outside all day in the yard, it being lovely warm sunny weather, so I will not feel obliged to walk her when I get home. And dinner will be basically leftovers. Easy. Good. And I dictated almost 1000 words of original fic on the way in this morning, though I suspect there will be none this evening - my brain is feeling dried-up just now.

Re: yesterday's interview, I have learned that they were doing more interviews still (so I'm thinking at least 4 people probably got to the in-person phase) but hope to have a decision sometime next week. Will keep you all posted.
