A Trip Across the World

Well, I'm off on Saturday for a definite adventure:

Only 15 hours in the air will take me to India! ...And then I get to go to work the next day.

My new start-up company now has 32 employees in India and this is my first trip to meet them all (after countless phone calls, Skypes, and emails across the world). Our India office is in one of the suburbs of Delhi and I will be staying nearby in a corporate apartment and going to work at night--because they work North American hours, i.e., 6 PM to 2 AM. ugh. I don't know how they do it but of course it is good for our business that they do--and I guess I will find out what it is like.

I will get one day to tour the city of Delhi and one day to see the "Taj" in Agra. Some of the staff will take me around so I should be able to experience something interesting in the company of the "locals" but of course I don't know how much it will be (or if I will be awake).

Anyway, I'll be gone about two weeks in all (8 days in India) and Remy gets to have his vacation in CT with his cat friends--so he will be fine. I'll try to make some reports as the days evolve but I have no idea how things will go or if I will have any energy beyond work, jet lag, and my guided tours.

In a way, it's too bad I won't see much of India but it's a start and I can at least have a chance to learn the ropes a bit before returning. Perhaps on a later trip I can take some real time to do more exploring but right now I am happy just to have the chance to see such a different place and to meet my co-workers at last.
