Eat, Drink, and be Merry...

Christ! Newt Gingrich just came on Meet the Press and said that we are already in WWIII and we may as well accept it and get involved.

Well, I suppose in light of that, we should re-institute the draft and start firing missles.

What we should be doing is reigning in Israel, (as we are their only ally) but they have us whipped, for some reason.

Well, I don't think the decision makers in our administration are saavy enough to understand how the Middle East really works--so I don't trust them to intervene anywhere. Those who do understand are not being listened to because the Bush administration has its own blind agenda that it will not waver from, no matter who gets killed or how many wars get started, including WWIII.

Well, I have to agree that history will blame whatever happens on us. So much for GB's so-called "legacy."

*shakes head and despairs*

My friend's on-the-spectrum-of-autism child drew a picture last night that was chilling. He drew a picture of a monster-devil creature all in red, white, and blue, wielding a missile in each hand and then came to us and said, "This is the United States man."

Out of the mouths of babes... That is so telling. Even the children are poisoned by the general atmosphere in this country. *despairs with you*

I never thought there'd come a day when I'd agree with something Newt Gingrich said. But yeah, he could be right, and we started it.

Well, it was chilling but Gingrich was so articulate, convincing, and smooth, that I could almost hear heads nodding all over the country, "Yeah, right, let's go get 'em."

And I agree that we started it and that he may be right--but I hate it that he was more in favor of escallating things than stopping it.

And that's the most chilling thing.

The whole week has been one horror after another with Mumbai and Israel and all of it. I hardly know what to say anymore. Wanting peace seems so futile when the UN Security Council comes together to vote on a resolution condemning Israel, and the US is the only nation that votes against it, so it dies. It's like we are blaring on loudspeakers across the world that Israel and the US are partners out to destroy the Muslim world.

Isn't that true! I dread turning on the news anymore. Peace seems so far away as we drown in mindless hate. And what makes me angriest is that the testosterone-based religions won't do anything to stop it.
