This is one of currently airing Taiwan drama that I really enjoy, Love at 17. It is a friendship and second-chance drama. I love the soft, mellow and sweet purin feels that this drama has. This is my thoughts of Love at 17 after its 8th episode.
Firstly, this is my first drama of Lego Lee. He & Nikki Hsieh looks cute together. I'm not going to comment on the acting department since this is an idol drama. But I always like Taiwan's formula in making romance/rom-com drama. The industry relies heavily on the chemistry between the lead actors and they are mindful of fan service. They have slow-mo shots for this purpose. Who doesn't love slow-mo shuai ge and OTP?
He Hao Yi and Ai Li Si are best friends ever since he joined her gang. Their friendship quickly turned into love. I LOVE when I don't need to wait until episode 10 for this! I thought I was going to die from all those overwhelmed doki doki moments that He Hao Yi and Ai Li Si had in the second episode.
Hao Yi: What made you like someone?
Ai Li Si: Like someone should happen after getting to know them and sharing the happy and sad moments.
I get used to having him in my life.

Hao Yi is so obvious. However, Ai Li Si afraid it will change their friendship. My dilemma exactly
But it doesn't stop one from dreaming...
Happiness is reading a completed manga volumes at once. (and watching completed drama episodes)
It's 13 years later and they are now 30. She's no longer part of the gang. The drama is all about Hao Yi and Ai Li Si. No one else. Nobody will be in their way if they're together. Since the other people in their gang is Hao Yi's twin and Lei Lei has no romantic interest in him. There is no second lead who's pursuing either of them nor ex-girlfriend (yet) who comes back to take him away. But this will make things too easy. So, one day, Ai Li Si loses her memory and she thinks she's 17.
Despite I don't like Ai Li Si's loyalty to her friends in many ways because I wasn't that girl, the drama hit my soft spot right away because of Hao Yi's devotion to Ai Li Si. The trouble began when she became friend with Lei Lei's secret admirer and tried to be the go-between for him and Lei Lei (WHY? My #1 hmmmm). It put her in an awkward situation when Lei Lei wants to know the identity of the guy but she tried hard to protect the admirer's secret. By keeping the secret, she also make Hao Yi insecure because to Hao Yi, she doesn't trust him enough. After she lost her memory, Hao Yi sneakily try to win her because she doesn't remember why they're no longer friends (My #2 hmmmm). But he ordered purin with his shaved ice just for her to steal it away, I go awwwwww~ I want a 'He Hao Yi' in my life too. The drama has a very familiar plot. It let me reminiscing those stupid mistakes I made during my school days, or more like my college days since I had a 'Hao Yi' then and I wish I could turn back the time to when I was 18.
