after a long day of classes, and the dredded knowledge of an upcoming paper, it is quite a perfect evening to have dinner ready (and dessert!) and wonderful, stimulating conversation with sean. then to move on to watch studio 60 on the sunset strip, among other things... now how the heck did jon get the pakistan p.m. on his show? brilliant, and with tea!
it's nice to know people are friendly, i sat at a table outside today before class while on my computer doing research online, and first one woman came over and sat with me, and struck up a conversation, then after she had gone, and other woman came over and inquired about my computer. it's just a feel good thing to see that people are open enough to strike up a conversation or just sit at a table with some one they don't know. too often i think we isolate ourselves within only those who we know already. moving to a city constantly amazes me in the ways in which people connect with other people, be it a stranger sitting at your table, or a conversation on the bus at 1030 at night.
for 2 nights in a row i walked from west portal to our apartment. thats 2.4 miles! a little alcohol helps with the start and the bars along the route don't hurt either. but i now know there actually is a possible taraval crawl, even one place with karoke, and joxers has a free juke box! plus drinks on this side of town cost less and they'll give you middle-top shelf and it's not really more, or only an extra $ over well. i have a new yummy refreshing drink, vodka collins, or tom collins if you don't mind the gin. it's a good alternative if you can't get a mojito. mmmmojito.
