To begin with, thank you so much for writing for me. Yuletide is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season and this year has been a tough one for me, so I'd prefer stories that lean towards the lighter side. I know how heavy these fandoms can be so if there's any darkness, add some light too. My favorite sorts of stories are missing moments, character studies and that feel as if they fit within the world of the canon.
I love all of these fandoms because of the depth of the worlds and the characters, I enjoy action and plot if it fits. When a writer can pull off a complex plot, I love it as that's something I'm not good at writing. If you choose to include sex and violence, I ask that if they're there; no rape/dubcon or torture. All of the ones I've asked for are from worlds with difficult aspects to them and I enjoy how the characters interact with and are changed by what's around them. Also even though I've only requested one or two characters, all of these canons revolve around large and complex casts, so please add others into the mix.
Old Kingdom: Sameth, Ferin-Goldenhand made me incredibly happy as Ferin was a wonderful outside perspective on the Old Kingdom. Also Sameth is my favorite character and I loved how he and Ferin interacted. One reason I love Sameth is because of how he doesn't fully fit and that he's still figuring out how to do what he does within his world. I find the ways that he interacts and understands the Charter intriguing and appreciated how Ferin just got him in a way that other characters outside of Nick haven't. I'd love to see more of her interactions with the Old Kingdom, the Charter, with them and how they change each other and the Old Kingdom. One of my favorite things with Sameth is his interactions with Nick, Ellimere, Lirael, his parents and would adore any of them being worked in.
October Daye series: Quentin Sollys, Dean Lorden-I loved how in the newest book, we got to see more of the Undersea and of the younger Fae playing a larger role in what the future will look like. I adore how the world of October Daye keeps growing and how Quentin is someone at the heart of the main issues between how things were done and might be done. Also I liked how in this latest book, all sorts of relationships were at the heart of it. I would love to see more of this, what's changed whether in a small slice of life moment or something more complex. Please work in anyone else that you'd like since everyone touches everyone in this world.
Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance: Hup-I'm fascinated by Hup, because he's clearly a podling who's spent time enough around gelflings to understand them. While also not being happy with how things are, I'd love to know more of maybe how he got to that point. I haven't asked for any other characters but would love anyone that you choose to add like if he had an interaction with Brea or Rian in his travels. This world is incredible and I'm so glad it exists so please enjoy yourself.
Tam Lin-Pamela Dean: Janet Carter, Thomas Lane-This is one of my favorite books ever. I love the hint of magic, the love of words and learning, also I grew up the daughter of a professor so Janet resonated with me. The way that Dean captured the world of a small liberal arts college, it resonates again. Its also one of the romances that I adore because it takes place over time and there are awkward and heartfelt moments. There are so many things I would love; what happens next for them on a domestic level, what happens next in more complicated ways, a glimpse at what's happening with their other friends, the fallout in the theater or classics departments or even just some lovely romantic moments. Write whichever of these you're inspired by and include other characters.
Six of Crows Series-Leigh Bardugo: Jesper Fahey, Wylan Van Eck-I loved the ending of Crooked Kingdom with all the possibilities it set up and especially how the characters are growing up. It would be wonderful to spend more time in this world where everything is interconnected and nothing is truly simple. Jesper and Wylan's relationship is one of my favorites for how they complement each other. I'd love to see more of them learning who they want to be versus who they think they should be.
