Yesterday I finally saw The Winter Soldier and wow that movie, I need to see it again.

Marvel's done it again, the story moved along so quickly and all hinged on relationships. I loved how the enemy were those with different ways to reach goals. The insidious ways of using a lot of structure that's already exists such as surveillance and ramping it up to the point of that's wrong.

I adored all the relationships and the focus on identity. One of my favorite lines that captured a lot of the movie was I think either Fury or Pierce saying to Steve that 'The Greatest Generation' wasn't that great. The look on Steve's face and all of his interactions to being this legend and yet alive and trying to move forward. The Smithsonian exhibit was fantastic, I could easily see that existing and I want to go visit it. There was a great bit of meta I read somewhere about how that exhibit reflects back so much of what's going on in the movie in terms of identity. That at the very end, that's where Bucky goes to look at who he once was and understand some of his memories.

Sam Wilson was the best, I adored that he worked for the VA and has a lot of respect for Steve while also seeing him as another veteran. I want lots more of him interacting with everyone.

Natasha, it was wonderful to see more of how she works and especially how what she does isn't what Steve does. It was a nice reflection of how in Captain America, Bucky and Steve did different tasks.

I need to see it again and I'm coming to love the soundtracks of Henry Jackman, his music just works. He did the soundtrack for X-Men: First Class and I heard him interviewed on an NPR show about movie soundtracks.

My jet lag is getting better and its wonderful to not have anything huge coming up in the near future other than family visiting for Easter. I keep looking back at the last month and a half where I did three weeks of fact-checking, to DC for the job then out to LA for an interview and it makes sense that not a lot of other things have been happening. But all that traveling has my words coming again. I'm hoping to write some queer fest fics and today I wrote a librarian blog: Busy days: Fact-checking and the school librarian as goalie.

Oh and ages ago, I put up a prompt meme with a 100 prompts. Its still open as writing for other people always works well for me.
