Lazy Days
The past few days have been busy and rather wonderful. My brother and his wife had a Love Celebration and I've met and reconnected with friends and family from all the world, eaten beautiful food, drank great wine and felt quite lucky. Today feels like the first day of my true vacation as there aren't any parties planned. With my parents, I went hiking around Sugarloaf mountain and we've been doing a lot of reading and little else, which is such a treat.
I'm deep in The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms,which is a complicated and good read. Normally political books aren't my favorite but the focus is on ideas and belief and relationships more than politics and the writing is brilliant.
I'm going to do two rounds of the icon meme and then head back to my book before having dinner with my brother and his wife again, we're helping to eat leftovers from the three parties and drink wine.

Robin is about to shoot his last arrow, Will's crying in the corner and Little John's holding Robin. I adore the play of light and how much emotion is captured in this painting. Someday I want to have a print of this on my wall.
Gossip Girl is a terribly silly show and this is the two actresses/characters from it just being silly and friends together. Its my happy icon because I love how clear it is they they're enjoying being right where they are.
I love pirates and this icon always makes me laugh as its a pirate ducky.
When I first started playing Sameth, makesthings, I realized that steampunk would work quite well for the types of things he makes. In canon, he makes a winged mechanical frog out of bronze and I found this on a steampunk site and iconned it. I think its quite neat.
This is Chuck and Ned from Pushing Daisies kissing through plastic and they're one of my favorite tv couples as they're happy and silly.
I happen to enjoy the movie Titanic a lot or I did when it was playing. Most of that's due to Kate Winslet and when I found this icon I wanted it. I don't use this icon too much, but its my one for oh god, it feels like the world is closing in on me.

A few years ago there was an icon making DE and someone made this and I adore the sentiment and look of it. Mainly because I keep making friends in Milliways and I feel so lucky to be a part of the community.
I'm a Classicist and I don't think that's ever going to change. I found this icon in a huge base of gold icons and the wreath is a real symbol of the Classical world so I grabbed it.
I just love the simplicity of this icon and its peaceful.
I found this icon through the community 14_valentines and its a true statement. Usually when I use it its to remind myself to stop overthinking and trust my instincts. Other times its at the world in general when its being terribly silly.
At one point, LJ was doing this weird thing where you would randomly get someone else's icons appearing instead of your own. This one popped up in a thread I was in and I snagged it. I think its actually a quote from Twilight but I love it. Since its a charming and true way of saying, I love you but it scares me slightly.
