Into the Fray

I just had my first lecture and I think its going to be a fascinating class for learning about how information works and moves between things and all its issues. Its taught by three professors who seem incredibly interesting and different.

Also today the center of campus, the Diag is taken over by the biggest student activities fair that I've ever seen. I wandered around and signed up for fencing, salsa dancing, a theater group and a stunt fight group which is the closest I could find to a sci fi fantasy club on campus. Its kind of crazy, in a place where every subset of the population seems to have their own niche, geeks end up subdivided. This stunt group seems really interesting and I could just tell from when I talked to them that I think I'll be spending a good amount of time with them, as the saying goes, they're my sort of people.

Also the libraries were handing out rubber duckies with Michigan on them so I have one of those too. Currently I'm feeling quite wired and may end up heading out again later to just sit and enjoy the feel of all these people and maybe finish Midnight's Children.

My next class is at 5:30 and goes until 8:30 so I'm going to be rather late getting online tonight, so I'm going to be on for a bit this afternoon. Life is good and I'm even more sure now that this was the right place for me.

i want to be a librarian, geeking out, michigan, finding my way
