I...don't actually think this is relevant to people on my flist (which is why I never posted it before), but I just spelled it out in comments over on a post in dreamwidth, so I figured I may as well bring it up here.
Say there's this Genius. Genius is kind of pompous, has issues with personal bravery, likes bossing people around a bit, and has a lot of pride in their own intelligence. Genius also has a habit of coming up with very clever schemes that help save the day. Overall, Genius is surprisingly lovable, despite the faults.
There's also Laconic Guy. Laconic is a reluctant leader who has issues with putting too much personal efforts into things, but who can take command when appropriate. Laconic is also pretty smart, though this is another thing Laconic may prefer to downplay. At one point, Laconic has corrected Genius on Genius' math, something that ruffled Genius' feathers. Laconic and Genius have a strange relationship, but once Genius stops fretting, they are perfectly capable of relaxing together between Day Saving shenanigans.
Oh! And they're both dragons. And Genius is a girl. (still neurotic, though)
