Partial reaction to Pandora Hearts 45~
First off - I thought there might be some more Nightray siblings! But um, maybe not quite that many. XD
The existence of those siblings really does explain a lot, especially in regards to Eliot. To me, Eliot always seemed like...he was overcompensating? (not like that.) He puts so much effort in asserting his rightful place ('I AM ELIOT NIGHTRAY, THE LEGITIMATE NIGHTRAY HEIR!!,') when a young man born and raised with that priviledge wouldn't really have bothered - it would go without saying, or at least without excessive volume. I mean, look at Oz. Daddy issues and time travel shenanigans aside, he's pretty secure in his status as an important young lord. Eliot, on the other hand, was clearly raised as a noble, but not as a noble heir.
He's clearly trying so hard to live up to the responsibilities his brothers left him. And I hope, hope, hope, he patches things up with Gilbert. There was (still is) some genuine affection there. Maybe if Leo smacks Eliot over the head enough, he'll get over it. XD
SPEAKING OF WHICH. Leo’s glasses fell off and yet we didn’t get to see his face? I am suspicious. I am even more suspicious that he was the only one who stayed in Sablier after everyone else went home. Frankly, there are a lot of things that Leo has done that could be totally innocent, but could play at a deeper meaning when you put it all together.
So let's make a list! :D
- Leo stayed in Sablier after everyone, including his master, went back home. Why? What's in Sablier?
- The orphanage is near Sablier. There's a good chance he was raised there at some point. (see: calling the kids his brothers and sisters and their acceptance of him), so maybe he stopped for a visit
- Duke Nightray was nearby, but he asked Eliot if he talked to him, so it's not likely Leo saw the Duke
- The Baskervilles are in Sablier.
- See above: Leo has some sort of connection to the orphanage
- Possibly he is an orphan himself, which is what his 'family' comments and his general recognition/acceptance by the residents seems to imply. (not a certainty, though). There's a chance he was raised in that orphanage.
- ...as in, the orphanage right next to Sablier. The area where people turn into chains. Where Pandora did EXPERIMENTS ON TURNING PEOPLE INTO CHAINS.
- No, really, there is something freaky going on with that orphanage. And if Leo is connected to it? *raises eyebrow*
- Actions at Lutwidge
- It wasn't Eliot who figured out how to get down into the secret passage way that only the Baskervilles and Oscar knew about. It was Leo.
- It was also Leo who found the other passage way that led them out.
- When Jack appeared, one panel specifically showed Eliot and Leo on the ground, their faces hidden from (Jack's) view.
- Glasses
- This is anime/manga 101. Characters with glasses are usually hiding something.
- Especially if the lens are opaque.
- Also if a point is made of never showing the character's bare face, even if the glasses get knocked off.
- The Fake Outs
- Twice now Leo has been painted as a surprise 'enemy'
- The second was in the last chapter, where Eliot wakes up in attack mode.
- The first was in Sablier, when he pointed the gun at Eliot. He was under Zwei's control at the time.
- Something to note - the only way to limit Zwei/Dledum's influence is by not struggling against the threads. How lucky is it that the one thing that would limit Zwei's power was the thing that Leo did?
Again, any of those things taken by themselves would just be coincidence. There's just so many. o_o
