NCIS 0705 - Code of Conduct
Not a lot known about this before it aired, except that it was a Halloween one.
I did however hope that NCIS would get back to what it does best, mcguffin murder mysteries that showcase the team's interactions, as opposed to pretty near 8 solid episodes in which conspiracies and Ziva took center place. (seriously, 2 eps setting up the spinoff and starting the Rivkin/Ziva arc. Semper Fi aka the one where Rivkin causes trouble for Ziva and NCIS. Ayaliah aka the one where the team and Ziva travel to her homeland. Truth and Consequences aka the one where they rescue Ziva. Reunion aka the one where Ziva tries to mend fences. Inside man aka the one where Ziva decides she wants to be an NCIS agent. Good cop bad cop aka the one where we find out that Ziva still hasn't been fully honest but oh yeah, she gets to be an agent.) Enough already. Can we *please* have just a normal regular episode where Ziva is no more and no less than the rest of the team?
(and oh yeah, Palmer, want him too)
Yay, Palmer's in this one! Sorry, but I'm a Palmer fan and proud of it!
Ziva's driving? Oh god, they're doomed.
Heh, love the way Jimmy is mirroring Ducky's stance.
“Guess we should lay him down. Unless he's gonna drive.”
I also love that while Jimmy is much more sure of himself with the jokes - apologizing for inappropriateness but not babbling nervously. And Ducky is only mildly exasperated not overly annoyed.
(snicker) and of course it's a pumpkin they use!
Oh Jimmy is definitely enjoying himself! Ducky too
“Happy Halloween” Okay, happy Gibbs is officially the scariest part of the episode!
“Breaks over” Phew, back to normal!
So, was Tony's grimace because Gibbs took away his (nice) drink, or because he sent him to go on interviews with Ziva?
Energy drinks to kids on Halloween “Their parents are going to love that”
Heh, now that's a thought the next time some gurriers come to the door. Serve the parents right for letting their kids run loose. Seriously though, it's probably a cultural thing but the whole 'trick or treat' mentality just leaves me cold. Especially since nowadays it's basically a 'lets get as much free candy as we can' hunt.
“McGee, skinny jeans...” Now why didn't we get to see that episode?
Wait, Ziva stopped at the doorway to the mens room? (will wonders never cease)
And what was with the 'ugh' look on her face before the door shut. It's not like she's never seen the inside of it before.
Hah! Loved Gibbs (mild) smack down of 'Probie' Ziva. And the way he backed up Tony with the 'mobile campfire'.
“Palmer! No more refills!” Heh, methinks that Palmer's having just a little too much fun with nitrogen!
Yay for Palmer helping figure out the answer! And heh at him leaning in to get a kiss only getting a head smack instead!
(I've had this problem with Gibbs ever since Hiatus. Any time he's being all superior with any of the suspects/perps in interrogation, I feel like telling him to get off his high horse, because he's a murderer and has no right to the moral high ground)
Hmm, there's 6 minutes left and they're bringing in the wife - who Tony has suspected all along - why do I feel that there's another twist to go? (I'd prefer if there wasn't. Tony has been at NCIS for 8 years and a Detective for almost 6 more. He has good instincts and even if he's wrong about the motives, I'd like to see his gut be right about the perp)
Ah well, at least his gut was right for the larceny lotto!
And this is what NCIS should be.
Eight episodes, over five months, and *finally* we're getting back to basics, to the format that made NCIS the show I love.
The team got to work together, the pairings were mixed up without any one couple getting all the screen time. Abby wasn't overly irritating, Ziva wasn't her usual “I can do anything better than anybody” self. Ducky was Ducky and Palmer was lovely as usual.
*This* is the show I want to watch.
More please!
