It's the third day of 2015 and I feel great. And why?
Because I haven't been to work yet.
Theoretically I have to go back on Monday but since school starts on Wednesday, I have two extra days. Can't leave my baby alone at home, now can I? I used to compromise in these situations. Ask friends or family to babysit. In this case I was even asked to bring her to work because "we always start work together, as a team". Um...nope.
Not this year because I say no.
This might not sound like a big deal but it is to me. Saying no is a big deal. Because it's not easy.
I have to head into town this afternoon to find a decent looking blouse or a simple black shirt for application photos. It'd be so much easier if photos weren't mandatory when it comes to applications. Other countries have better systems, I think. Without a picture, HR managers might be more interested in the qualifications rather than the looks. I really hate getting my picture taken.
So I'll grab my little fashion princess, aka my daughter, and we'll find something pretty for me to wear.
She's very honest in her oppinion and I love that about her. If she thinks something's ugly, she'll say it to your face.
So, I got up early this morning just to finish this story I'm writing. It was supposed to be a gift for the Holidays but thankfully the deadline is January 6th, so I still have a few days to go. I'm almost done with the first draft but editing this is going to be a bitch. But once I'm finished, I'm pretty sure I'll be exceedingly proud of myself.
I've had breakfast so now it's time to write.
