After just shy of seven years, I'm jumping ship from Livejournal over to Blogspot.

Today I went to see Marina Abramovic's "The Artist is Present" exhibit at the MoMA. You can read about my experience on the new blog: http://watermelon-shirt-type.blogspot.com
Oh, and just wanted to thank everyone for banking advice. I ultimately decided to go with Flushing Bank, a small local bank that is close to work. I'm getting totally free checking with no fees and no minimum balance, and they're running a special promotion where I'll get $150 for setting up direct deposit with my paychecks and using my debit card five times within the first 45 days. The banker-man was totally nice to me even though I'm not exactly a big-money customer, and answered my extensive list of questions with an impressive level of patience. So, hurrah for doing grown-up things like opening a new bank account! And boo urns, Citibank, for trying to charge me a poor tax. What is this, Monopoly? Catch ya on the flip side. I'll be the one with Park Place and Boardwalk. Don't be crying to me when you land on my hotels.
