Updating from Redding, CA. Life is good. I've had a fantastic time in California so far and am looking forward to new adventures. Tomorrow Jenni and I are going to go work horses.

Several of you have suggested to me that I should participate in Naniwrimo; others that my adventures ridin' the Dog could be the next great American novel. The clear solution seems to be to combine both ideas -- so writing down all my stories will be my new project when I get out to New York. I'll start October 17th -- a bit early for Naniwrimo, but I feel like since it's from my own memory it's important to write before I forget. I'm announcing this now so I'm held accountable to finish. I can't promise that everything I write will be stories that I want to share, but even if I decide to keep the finished product to myself (perhaps especially if this is the case), I feel like it's important to have a record of the last five weeks. It's hard to explain. I think what it comes down to is that for the first time in my life, I feel like I have all the time in the world -- and that's all kinds of liberating. Maybe I'll find another place in New York come mid-January -- or maybe I won't. I could go anywhere and do anything. I have a list of anywheres and anythings and I look forward to checking them off.
