[ Madoka was doing a grocery round, trying to restore some sanity and calmness to her life after school. She was expecting to just pick a can off of the shelf... not to see a small man climbing the display shelf. ]

um-... Can I... help you...?

[Amaimon pauses in his long climb and looks at Madoka. Oh, well, that's convenient.]

Could you put me on the shelf with the cans of frosting?

[He points up towards said shelf, even though that leaves him dangling from an edge with only one hand.]

Huh? Oh, yes, of course!

[ She sets her shopping basket down and instead picks him up, then holding him up to the shelf. ]

Um, but... isn't that a bit of a pain? I mean, um... I could just grab the things you need instead...? [ Though, hm~. Frosting? ] Are you making a cake, by the way...?

[He hops off of her hand and onto the shelf. Over to the chocolate frosting he goes! And he has no problem hefting it up, despite it being larger than he is.]

Hmm? I guess. [He inches over to the edge of the shelf again and swings the can back, then forward, and throws it! CLUNK. It lands in the shopping cart behind Madoka.

The one filled with every kind of sugary treat known to the store and... some milk. That's it.]

No. I just like frosting. [Amaimon dusts his hands off and peers at Madoka again.] You can push my cart around, if you want.

[Because, hey, free human doing stuff for him. Why not.]

Oh... I see...

[ Madoka follows the frosting with her eyes, then walks over to the cart. She sets her basket in the bottom part of the cart and takes the handle without much hesitation. She's not just a free human. She's a total pushover. ]

Oh, sure. No problem, just tell me where to go... but um... That's a lot of sweet stuff that you have in there... [ And eating just plain frosting... ] Wouldn't a cake with frosting be, um... at least a bit better than the frosting alone..?

[Once the frosting is in the cart, Amaimon will follow with a running leap off of the shelf. Whooooooosh and he grabs onto the edge of the cart. He pulls himself up to balance on that edge and stroll over to the wire basket built into it by the handle.]

I suppose so, but I do not know how to bake one and the bakery is not a part of this store.

I've been trying to learn to bake, actually... I'm trying to make everyone cupcakes on their birthday and um... I have a friend who's good at baking. Maybe we could make something for you! Or at least, I'd be happy to make you a cake, sir...

[What are you doing, Madoka? Why are you offering to make things for demons? Why? Madoka, stop being so nice.

[ She feels encouraged. If he likes cake then she really wants to make him one an brighten his day. ]

I'd like to a lot! I um... I'll even ask Rin-kun for pointers, so it can be perfect! um... what kind of cake do you like, Mr...? [ a pause. What's his name? Oh, wait. Before she can ask about that-- ] ... I'm Madoka, by the way!

Is that your friend, Miss Madoka? [Of course, of course, little brother would have made friends while trapped here. He's the type to. He has to consider what name to give before answering.

He could answer truthfully, but, as slow as he seems, that's hardly the truth. Handing out his real name to Rin's friends would ruin his fun. In this case, it would deprive him of cake.] I am Mahazael and I like chocolate cake.

Ah, mm! Rin-kun is a very dear friend of mine. He's been really nice to me since I came here... Oh, maybe I should introduce you to him?

[ Since Madoka really does adore her friendship with Rin like crazy and loves it when her friends become friends with friends. ]

Chocolate is the best, isn't it? I'm sure any cake that Madoka makes will be very good. [He perches on the cart handle and points towards the aisle they need to go to next.] Let's go that way now. Haha, today has been such a good day!

[ Madoka feels like she's made a new close friend. She's especially glad to hear Rin has met this nice man. Mostly because she selfishly worries that Rin will be lonely if something happened to her. ]

Un-! I'm so glad that we met! Let me know if you see anything on the shelves that you need, okay? I can grab it for you! [ For herself, Madoka picks out a box of chocolate cake mix and some raw chocolate. She'll have to ask Rin if he has any tips later, but for now she wants to be as prepared as possible. ]
