Week 1. Matthew Arnold. From ‘Culture and Anarchy’ and ‘Dover Beach’.
Week 2. Daisy Miller by Henry James.
Week 3. Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti.
Week 4. Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy.
Week 5. Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
Week 6. Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.
Week 7. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle.
Week 8. Eliot, Pound, H.D. The Waste Land and ‘In a Station of the Metro’, plus Flint and Pound ‘Imagisme’ and H.D. ‘’.
Week 9. Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf.
Week 10. Ulysses by James Joyce.
Week 11. Katherine Mansfield ‘The Garden Party’ and Jean Rhys ‘The Day They Burned the Books’ and ‘Let Them Call It Jazz'.
Thoughts? Damnit, Ulysses is up there. It's 1000 freaking pages long! Yay to Dorian Gray though. I'm quite looking forward to Mrs Dalloway and Heart of Darkness even though I've heard mixed opinions about them. But it is English lit, you can't win them all.
