Knackered!
Ugh my ankle is sore! It won't stop throbbing but I can still walk on it so I'm sure it isn't seriously injured. It does give me an excuse to put my feet up and watch iPlayer for a bit instead of reading Doctor Faustus for Eng Lit. The people they had on this week are twats. They mauled Benjamin Button but liked Doubt (I'm going to see Benjamin Button tonight), liked Lily Allen who I can't stand then tore into Spring Awakening. I haven't seen it but I've been listening to the music from it for ages and the story is designed for younger people, not bitter and cynical journalists from the Daily Mail (and that slag who had an affair with Piers Moron) who think musicals are naff. Okay, slightly OTT there but they wouldn't have known quality if it had smacked them across the face. My gran is coming with my family to visit me tomorrow! She's never been in my flat before so I've been doing a bit of extra cleaning to make sure it's all up to her standards. Grandad wanted to come but he's still a little weary about long car journeys and he gets tired too easily so he's staying with a friend for the day at home.
I saw The Wrestler yesterday and although I didn't completely enjoy it (preferring Darren Aronofsky's weirder films) I did think it was a good film with a superb lead performance. It was a lot more depressing than I thought it would be but not as emotionally engaging as Slumdog Millionaire or Milk. So go see those instead! The BAFTAs are this Sunday and I can't wait! Team Winslet, Penn, Ledger, Cruz and Slumdog!
