I return, after three months of silence.

Today was me first class, but it wasn't until 4:30, so I was a little frantic, wondering what I was going to do to fill my time and keep me from being homesick. I was unhappy (although not miserable) for part of the morning before I finally set out for the library. I got some books, said hello to the library ladies that I know and then let them convince me to consider running a duct-tape-wallet-making workshop for their kids' club. Sounds fun to me! They even gave me some tape to practice on (tonight's project).

From there I proceeded to the church, when I saw Jen and Robin. Jen was just heading out to do a million and one errands, so I went along and found myself much cheered up by the presence of a friend. We had a great talk inbetween buying paint and depositing cheques. When we got back to the church, Robin wanted our opinion on the new arrangement for the chairs (apparently he'd been re-doing them all day!).

Class happened, and I don't think it's going to kill me. Instead of presenting all of the million-and-one views on language and the brain, Dr. Hill picked one, and we're learning that. Good enough for me.

I found Vicki before class and Melissa after, so I was very happy until I got home. Go figure. Now I'm so-so, and I lost my window to eat (I completely lose my appetite when I'm homesick). So far today, I've had a piece of toast, a bagel and a carrot. Yum.

I still haven't seen Ellen, because we keep on missing each other. I met Jerry this morning when I came downstairs and said, "Um... I'm the one who lives across the hall from you". Jerry is tall and skinny and dark-skinned. He has crazy black hair and sideburns. He's quite nice, and I spoke French with him. I hope to speak more. I want to see the differences between his French and mine.

Guess I should go try to eat.
