Number of jobs applied for this morning: 3
Number of jobs I will be applying for by tomorrow: 4
I started a new thing, where each posting I run across I write down in a notebook. I detail the company, their views, the job details and contact information. Then I call the company and find out the name of the hiring manager and write that down as well. Then I sit with all this information and I write up talking points, or a list of keywords, experiences and stuff I want to put into my cover letter. After all this, I move on to the next posting and start again.
This has paid off in today's job applications. Writing my cover letters was easy and I finally felt qualified for the positions (of course it helped that two of them were base entry-level designer positions at large firms in the area). I have a lot of hope that I will at least hear back from some of these people. Keep your fingers crossed, okay?
Now I need to get a move on and clean this place a little bit. The dog started really shedding recently, and I think I'm going to have to increase the number of days a week I vacuum. It's a little hairy in his favorite spots. Luckily the little stare-bear is asleep. Get this:
Yesterday I was too damn sore from the gym to take him for a run. To get back at me, he stared at me. All day. ALL DAY. It was a little creepy. I would look up and he'd be sitting across the room from me (not lying, but sitting straight up) and staring at me. Then he would come a couple steps closer and stare. If I ignored him, he wouldn't stop. I was being stalked by my puppy.
Today he went for a five mile fast run ... this afternoon he sleeps. Most excellent.
The little guy is filling out quite a bit from when we got him. He's not gaining any fat, by any means, but gee he's a bundle of muscle. I guess that's what running close to 25 miles a week will get a dog. He's a badass, that's for sure. A badass who sleeps with his paws in the air and his stomach facing the ceiling.
In other news, we will be coming back to Terre Haute from October 3-5 for Rose-Hulman's Homecoming. We includes Christian, Sonka and I. We are planning to stay with Krista and her new roommate. This promises to be an awesome weekend. Not only do we get to see our friends we haven't seen since the end of the year (hurray!), but we also get to show the dog off and just relax back on the streets we still sometimes call "Home." Hope to see a lot of people, and I will most assuredly be making a trip out to SMWC, possibly with puppy in tow.
Now I'm off to vacuum the floor.
