It's official, Christian and I are moving.
On Monday, we received a package from Makino detailing Christian's offer, benefits and moving package. Needless to say, he accepted this morning and set his start date for Monday July 28th. The relocation package includes temporary housing, a moving company and a signing bonus. We may use a storage facility to hold our things until we move into our new home. Christian will be moving into the temporary housing beginning on July 27th, and I will be following not long after.
Needless to say, this has all happened very quickly. Right now we are looking for places to live in the Mason/Cincinnati area. Tomorrow morning (so early!) we leave for Cincy to look at a few of the places we have been reviewing. Apartment complexes, townhomes, and single family homes are on the plate. The locations run the gamut from across the street from Makino (in Mason, north of Cincy, across from King's Island) to just across the river in Kentucky. Some of them are beautiful, some are iffy. We'll see. The goal is to find a place by the end of August. We would also like to be out of the Terre Haute apartment by August (to save on some rent).
With all that is going on, you must forgive me if updates come slowly. We will be taking our cameras tomorrow, so hopefully I shall have photos to share. Tomorrow's trip should take us through Saturday evening, when we will make a (very!) brief stop in Indy for my cousin Michael's birthday party (he's requested a family dinner of 'meat and ramen', so it promises to be delicious).
I'm really nervous about this move, but I think we can do it without any problems. I'm also very excited to have a larger place, A/C and be out of Terre Haute. I have to say, I will miss Krista and the ability to ride whatever I want out at St. Mary's whenever I want. It's be an idyllic horse summer, for sure. Hopefully we'll end up settled in the year with the ability to keep my rambunctious thoroughbred project (ha!).
Oh ... and I also lopped a good 4 inches off of my hair. It's so hot ... and I've been staring at the razor with full intention to use it.
This move drives home how important it is to stay in touch every once in awhile ... so keep trying even if I'm difficult to contact. I'll post wherever our addresses are for the next little while. When in doubt, just use my mother's house. She still accepts my mail (though I still think she reads most of it ...)
I shall try to stay updated ... until then ... ah!
