So, I'll admit it. I slacked the hell off last week and didn't do anything with the stories I brought home to work on over the holidays. Silly me. My deadline (self imposed of course ... bleh) for having my stories completed is January 2nd. Had I written any of these stories heading into break? Nope. Had I written any of these stories by yesterday morning? Yeah, one. One of 8. Whoops.
As of today, I have written 20 pages of boring hovercraft news in 24 hours. My eyes are sort of dry and I'm really starving. As such, I'm going to go and read for a bit and dream of getting the hell out of this house and doing something with some friends.
Hello? Friends ...
An interesting things I wrote today (but not for the hovercraft thing): With the commonality of technology's tie upon on all of us, there is no wonder it is difficult to stay disconnected and comfortable for one simple day.
... reading so much is making my brain have to think again. It's a blessed relief.
My copy of Emma belonged to an old friend, she was a literature scholar ... and an incredibly intelligent one. Reading her notes in the novel cause me a greater understanding of the nuances of Austen's writing. It's really quite brilliant how well she interweaves the personal intentions and societal constraints into her writing. I know that much of it was the style and meaning of the time, but some of it is her own personal conviction, and that is what I enjoy.
Moving on. New Year's is approaching ... too many plans to solidify one yet.
*Tricia I wrote a story about Anchorage today ... you should read it ...maybe.*
