Harry Potter 30 Day Challenge from tumblr
I'm doing the first 7 now so my 30 days ends with the release of Deathly Hallows part 2. This is actually a tumblr thing so I'll probably post the rest there, or here... not sure yet.

Day 1: Your fave book.
Prisoner of Azkaban, easily!

Oliver’s lst and finest year. As well as the introductions of Professor Lupin and Cedric Diggory. My favourite, easy.

Day 2: Your fave movie.

Mmmm... Chamber of Secrets? I want to also say Prisoner of Azkaban, but that's my least favourite as well, but it's my favourite book.
Well CoS still had my dear Oliver in it and that's important to me! But I remember it being a big step for the HP series; the trailers showed a lot of the boys hitting puberty and suddenly we were all like "OMG HIS VOICE BROKE" or something like that. I also remember the technology for things like Dobby and the flying car scene, I mean this is 2002/2003 we're talking about. It was the second in the series so we were already familiar with many things but discovered so much more, like the first look at the Burrow and looking into Hagrid's past, learning more about Voldermort before he was Voldermort and Tom Riddle was quite pretty. I think... it was a huge step for HP, somehow being the second one I think is really important because it shows us where this is going- will the series continue going strong or bomb, ending here and now,

Day 3: Is there any of the films adaptations that have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book.

Oh definitely the Quidditch House Cup in PoA! Or cutting Oliver in general, haha. The sudden change in Directors and overall style really bugged me. I understand that PoA was when things started getting quite dark and even more serious, but the change was just too quick.
While I understand its cut, Quidditch is one of my favourite things about HP so I was really disappointed that it was cut out like that. HP suddenly became about the war against Voldermort long before it should have and all things regarding Harry being a 13 year old were thrown away.

Day 4: Least fave female character and why.
Umbridge. Cause she's a toad.
I hate those that break the rules, but I hate even more those that do evil under pretense of following the rules! She thought she was all high and mighty when she was just evil. Wanting to use an unforgivable curse, torturing students as detention, banning Fred, George and Harry from Quidditch. (Quidditch is serious business to me, okay?) It is not okay to abuse people or power in that way! Yes the Ministry was full of a bunch of idiots and I really do hate them all except Percy who I have a soft spot for these days but her more than anything. And her hem hem OH MY GOD I JUST WANT TO MURDER HER.

Day 5: Fave male character and why.
OLIVER. WOOD.
Eh, okay, I really don't know why. I think it was Sean Biggerstaff's gorgeous face and accent because I was into the movies before the books. I read something about someone thinking Oliver was amazing because he was one of the only characters to never treat Harry as "Harry Potter, the boy who lived" because he just wanted a good seeker- screw defeating Voldermort, we gotta win that cup! What I love about him is that despite how completely devoted to Quidditch he is, not once have I heard him brag about his own skills. After years of playing and even years of being the Gryffindor Captain; he would eat nothing before a match and he worries about the skills of the other houses and just every little thing that might effect the match. Oliver has so much faith in his team but not himself, he brushed off the compliment from the twins like it was nothing, not even caring when it's him that pulled them all together and him that leads them into battle each match. I just love that about him cause most jock characters are stuck up, only think of sports and can be quite dumb. He's a smart boy, I wish I knew how he did in classes, his OWL and NEWTs. Anyway, he's smart and he cares (...most of the time) about his team. It's sad but I think he might've felt a lot of regret after Fred dies because he may never have gotten to know the twin as more than one of his brilliant beaters. I think he cares deeply about his team but we never saw him outside of the Quidditch environment; it's just as likely that none of them ever thought to see each other much outside of Quidditch.
So yeah, I'm not a sports fan but for some reason I adore Oliver Wood. I don't remember liking him (as in starting to like him), I just know that I've loved him for as long as I've loved the HP series.

Day 6: What house would you want to be in.

Hufflepuff! Because I don't belong in the other house and need to be a part of the leftovers.
Hufflepuff is seen as the weak house, which bugs me a lot because they had Cedric Diggory! He may have been one in a million but I believe that he was a well balanced bit of everything, but because the other houses soared in their own things, they overshadowed Hufflepuff.
I like that they're a little more ordinary, they're balanced and overall kind hearted people. I'm not that brave, I'm not too smart and I'm hardly so evil! I think I'm just right :3 hurhur

Day 7: Fave female character and why.
Bro always reckons I hate women cause I never have any fav female characters, haha! I must say it's hard, none of the girls really ever stood out to me. If I think about it, I'd have to say Hermione. Hermione was probably my first favourite character because when I was younger and HP had first come out, I was just like her. I studied all the time, did my homework in the blink of an eye and and never broke the rules. At least I still feel strongly about the rules :p
She's a very strong character and I love that she keeps Harry and Ron in line when their boyish ways get a little dangerous. In the later books its good that she sees what's real and loosens up a bit and adapts to the changing world, otherwise she'd be just like the Percy and the Ministry. She's very mature and now that i think about it, it makes me wonder how Ron/Hermione works.. oh well, I'm not going to get into that.
While she has the utmost respect for teachers and always tries to stay in line, she does have her own sets of beliefs and will fight those she doesn't want to fight should she realise the teacher is in the wrong. I like that about her, she knows what is right and she'll do what is right... but she recognises when right is going turning into wrong. I saw a cute quote yesterday, "when nothing is going right, go left" and I think Hermione is always following the track of what is right, but at the end of the day, she knows when to turn left.
