MATINEE AND SHOWCASE 2010

Nov 17, 2010 01:09

I AM SO PROUD OF ALL MY FELLOW DTV CLASSMATES!!! Seriously, 4 months of work and over in a day, it's really quite sad, I'd love to do it again, but guys, it was amazing! Seriously, I was completely blown away by how great it was, that goes for Matinee and Showcase. The audience reactions were phenomenal and I was just sooo happy with EVERYTHING.

Now I realised through a conversation with blue_eyesgirl   (and my classmate Jules earlier at the pub) that I have a little too much alcohol in me, and things that usually should be really hard to say, or just not be said at all, are being said quite easily. So I'm going to go to sleep, and type up more tomorrow. This will be the drunk talking, but there's so much I want to say, and it needs to be said. But tomorrow. For now I need some sleep.

[The next day]

Yup, was definitely the drunk talking, that or the excitement has totally worn off after 5 hours in the edit suite.

Anyway, I pretty much know what I wanted to say, I think.

I am so, so, so, SO PROUD of everyone. While I was there for both shows, I'm mainly talking to Group 1 because I was there to see (and capture) the Matinee show coming together. Seeing the show on stage and hearing the audience's cheers and participation sent chills through my body because I've seen this thing from start to finish and it's just utterly amazing! I really cannot even begin to describe it!

Everyone did sooo well, I mean have you guys seen how it all came together?! It was just brilliant, and I spoke to some teachers/students afterward and got some great feedback!

I'm pretty sure everything else I had to say was from the excitement of having finished, there was just such a buzz after the show! I really wish I could have stayed at the after party for longer and hung out with everyone, but I was being picked up and that was my only way home. And I was in desperate need of rest.

Never the less, I can hardly believe how happy I felt last night after the show. I love the theater and live shows, that may have had something to do with it, but seriously, yesterday was a BLAST and honestly I'd do it again! Maybe. Okay, that's questionable. ANYWAY.

At the moment, I'm back at JMC and digitising all my footage, I had hoped to finish all this and EDIT MADLY until tomorrow so that I could show everyone our "DTV ONLY BEHIND THE SCENES" tomorrow after Daniel's class and before our End of Semester SHABANG, but it doesn't look like that it is going to happen I'm afraid! But I'll find a way to show everyone this footage, hopefully we can all meet up and watch it together, I'd really like to see everyone watch it together! I'm open to ideas and suggestions!

I've could have sworn there were a million other things to say, but it's all gone now. Hmmm...

Well, all in all, I am ever so proud of everyone and thankful to everyone for this wonderful show you all put together! I am so proud to have been a part of it (even though I mostly ran around shoving a camera in your faces)!

Congrats to all our wonderful Producers and Directors- that includes Zoe, Kam and all the prod and dirs (they're words!... not really. Whatever.) for all the inserts- you lead your teams wonderfully and created a MAGNIFICENT show, you should all be so proud!
Congrats to our wonderful tech team on a ONE HOUR BUMP OUT! Show ended around 9.30pm, we were packed and in front of Enmore before 11pm! That wonderful system you guys created was a nothing less of a GOD SEND. We had bumps in our two days at the Enmore, but it all worked out thanks to your attitudes and skill (let's forget the NTSC button thing though, shall we?).
Congrats to all insert groups on very amazing videos (that by the way I was told were heaps better than the Showcase ones, just thought I'd let you know)! Ben, your mash up was BRILLIANT, Dept. video group I still don't know how you did it but those were just beyond great, so much better than last years and more interesting than Showcase's. Brad and Josie, both your Documentary and Animation show reels were so suitable for Matinee and a brilliant way to show off DTV and DAN. The TVCs were great and shout out to Lee as the JVC one caught a LOT LOT LOT of attention. I saw some people backstage poking their friends to watch THAT TVC on the monitor because they thought it was so good and had to be shared.
Congrats to all our managers for keeping a wonderful sense of order all over and off the stage!
Congrats to our cameras and control room staff for the hard work and persistence throughout the heated hour that was Matinee! You were all ever so professional and ran with your roles like it was in your blood!
Congrats to our BEAUTIFUL hosts that ran the entire show so smoothly! Sarah handled her mental blank so professionally and James helped her just as well, you both stayed so calm and kept the show running beautifully, it was almost as though it was part of the plan!

I certainly hope I haven't forgotten anyway or any roles... but heck, you were all there through this semester and you all made that show! You all heard the cheers from the audience and got the praise from others, YOU ALL DID SO WELL.

Yup, that should be it. And yet I am still here rendering all sorts of bleh. So just one last time, congratulations on a wonderful show! Now go finish your rundowns, get some rest and HAVE A WONDERFUL SUMMER!!!!!!
(Except those of us stuck doing stuff for the final DVD, hurhur)
