Merlin galore
I've been listening to podfics for a little while now (I downloaded quite a few over the summer, anyway) and guh, I just love them so much :') I mean, there have been one or two that I had to stop listening to because of poor quality or whatever, but on the most part I really enjoy them, so I thought I'd make a lil reclist of the ones I've listened to :)

Okay, so the reason I downloaded this was, quite honestly, because I'd tried to read TSP twice and could never get further than the second chapter. I had something of a block around it, and I'm so, so glad she made a podfic because it almost instantly became one of my favourite fics, and it's scary to think about how I'd never have gotten to know the story without this recording. And man, it's so good--FayJay's my favourite reader so far, and I just couldn't get over how great she was at all the voices, and how the funny bits had me crying with laughter. I mean, it's super long, but totally and utterly worth it. Oh and also, I went out an bought both of Amy Macdonald's albums after I'd finished, because of reasons.

I always liked this fic, and the reader is pretty engaging. Surprisingly (I mean...despite the content of the fic) it's a nice one to fall asleep to XD It's only short, and I've listened to it a few times now.

This was another fic that I always felt like I should've read, but never got round to, so it was kind of brilliant to find out there was a podfic. I pretty much spent the whole of two evenings listening to this, and loved every second.

That's all I've got for now...I've downloaded some more that I hope to listen to over the next couple of weeks, and since I've realised how bloody fun it is to actually make them, I've gone back to some of my old favourite fics that I'd sort of love to read aloud :')
OH MY GOODNESS COLD CON!
It was about a month ago now, I think, so the excitement has died down a lot (tbh, I was more excited about meeting up with a friend from Tumblr than going to the actual convention, but hey.)
I'm pretty sure though, that I was the most embarrassingly awkward person there. I'm not even joking, I was THIS close to refusing point blank to take a picture with any of them. I mean, I thought it would be optional, but then Eoin stands up and goes 'so, is it picture time now?' and I freaked out and died a little bit.
Luckily I managed to take the pictures with my friend (uh, I believe she is known as caitcupcake around these parts) and I would show them to you, but they're terrible and I made a promise with Caitlin to never let anyone but us see them.
Alex Vlahos was ADORABLE. Like, really really. I slightly creepily made a list of all the cute things he did and posted it on Tumblr, but here it is anyway:

Of course, we weren't even there for Alex (well, I kinda was, but he wasn't meant to be the ~main thing) so here are some of Eoin and Tom as well:

I think out of all of them, Tom was probably the scariest. He was the first one we took photos with and omf it was SO embarrassing because he just stood there looking at us all expectantly, holding out his arms and we just stared at him, starstruck, until he was looking over our heads like he wanted saving. It was so mortifying, dear lord.
Although, the part that makes me cringe now still, is when we were outside afterwards holding our signed pictures from Alex out in front of us so the ink wouldn't smudge and then ALEX WALKED PAST US COS HE WAS ON A LUNCH BREAK OR SOMETHING AND HE SAW US JUST WALKING DOWN THE STREET CLUTCHING HIS FACE IN FRONT OF US LIKE IT WAS THE MOST FRAGILE THING AND I SWEAR TO GOD HE ROLLED HIS EYES ah man. I don't blame him, we must've looked batshit crazy.
So yeah. We had all of this nonsense going on around us, with Q and A where people were asking shit about shipping which just NO. It was funny though, when they were talking about Perwaine, and Alex was like 'haha guys, lol at your lives' until some girl shrieked out 'THERE'S MERDRED TOO' and he was all 'merdred?' and she was like 'yeah, you know! Merlin and Mordred!' and he had to sit down, and I cried.
I didn't actually legit think I was going to die though...I mean, I kept saying 'death is upon me, k, it just is' but it wasn't, until Colin fuckface Morgan turned up, I swear.
I thought I might combust. It was fine for Caitlin because she'd already seen him a few times before, but I'd never even glimpsed ANY of them, and I was terrified he would look at me or just dfjkgfdg god I'm freaking out now just thinking about it.
He was the special guest, and I really didn't think it'd be him...I was hoping maybe it'd be Katie, but half expecting it to be Rupert (which would've been great :3) but it was COLIN and it's the weirdest thing. I mean. I WRITE about him, and I blog about him, and he's Merlin, and God. He is pretty much my favourite actor, and I was just stunned. Caitlin kept laughing because I couldn't stop squeaking and flapping my arms around. I just couldn't.
