As I was untacking and cooling out Captain tonight the cutest little grey tabby cat came up to say hi. I was too busy petting it and seeing how loud I could get the purr motor to run to pay attention to gender but the lil thing was very thin (not starving thin, but close.. or just young thin) and very affectionate. Not so found of horse breathe though as he kept running away when Captain bent down to sniff noses. As I was leaving the barn I ran into the barn owner and asked who the new cat was and he said that it just appeared this week and that someone must have dumped it. He is trying to get someone to take it home. I know there are coyotes in the area and I have no idea if anyone is putting food out for the poor thing.
I'd be happy to help pay for a vet exam and any required reproductive organ removal surgery if someone else wants to provide a home. I'll try to get pics and verify gender on Thursday when I'm next at the barn.
