I refer to the article “Residents shocked at ‘white
elephant’ police probe (ST September 3, 2005).
I applaud the Buangkok residents for taking the
initiative and also taking ownership for the place they
live in.
I am highly bewildered as to why a peaceful display of
unhappiness by Buangkok residents over the unopened
MRT station would warrant a complaint and subsequently
a police probe. The complainant should come out to
state what issues he or she has with the cutouts,
rather than hide under anonymity.
Giant yellow ribbons were pasted on trees along Pasir
Ris Drive 3 for the Tie-A-Yellow Ribbon Walk on the 3
September. Should anyone find them offensive as well?
