Yes, see, I have no desire to live in Brooklyn (and even worse, I LIKE living in North Jersey, quelle horreur) and I wear J. Crew and listen to classic rock. Does that mean I am not cool enough to be a librarian anymore?
My mom knit my house scarf! But that has more to do with my complete dumbosity at anything craft-related and less to do with my mom being a hipster. Which she isn't, she's just good at knitting.
I had Mom make me a Slytherin scarf. She asked me what house I wanted and I said, "Well, considering I cheat on all the Sorting tests to get the results I want, I must be a Slytherin."
We're a four-house family: Mom with her Master's degree is the Ravenclaw, sister Allyn with the ironclad work ethic is a Hufflepuff, other sister Michele, future star of stage and screen, is the Gryffindor, and Dad (an engineer) and I are Slytherins.
I'd love to see a picture of your scarf when it's done.
Yay! I'm going to the Books of Wonder party but I don't think it'll be cool enough to wear my scarf, alas. Ooh, but I DO have a baby tee with the Hogwarts crest on it in blue glitter. Maybe I'll dig that out of my underwear drawer and stick one of my "Support Cedric Diggory" badges on it.
