Because people have asked about my Buttered Mashed Potato Candle:

White Barn Candle Company does not have a website where you can shop, but here is one up for auction on eBay. You can see the full range of smelly foody candles here.

White Barn Candle Company only has 100 stores in the US, so if anyone wants one and is very far from the nearest White Barn Candle Company, I have a store 9 miles away, PayPal, a car, and bubble wrap, and a post office nearby.

A story that roseofrohan, deralte, and heathersy especially will appreciate:

The other day, I was stopped at a red light. Above my music, I realize that the woman in the SUV next to me is yelling at me. I pause the iPod and lower my window, and she says, "Can you tell me how to get to Valley Road?" Coincidentally, I was going exactly where she needed to go, so I told her she could follow me.

Some background: I have a sign over my head visible only to perfect strangers that says, "Walking Information Desk. All questions answered." People approach me at Metrocard machines and ask what the best way is to get to Columbus Circle. They turn to me in bookstores and ask if the book they're about to buy is any good. I am asked for my opinions on movies and trousers and restaurants. And I haven't the faintest idea why.

Part of it, I'm sure, is because I look like the least threatening person on the planet. Online I'm known for my attitude problem, but IRL I'm 5'4", blonde, slender, and look five to ten years younger than I really am. I'm not sure whether to be flattered or scared of this realization. I suppose I can deal as long as it's mostly people asking for book recs or directions.

Found: dress for fasterthanlight's wedding. Two, actually. Problem: Cannot try things on over the internet. ISO: Dress for ball at TWH. Problem: am building entire outfit around my grandmother's antique gold purse and colors are hard to see on the internet. Also woe that I am a D cup and dress shopping is a nightmare because if I buy a dress I can zip in the back, it's too big everywhere else. Sigh.

Tomorrow: Write. Even if it kills me.
