I've never been particularly interested in visual kei - men in heavy makeup really doesn't do much for me. Plus I wasn't really that into the music.
Ever since Megamasso joined the ranks of Avex artists though and pumped out their first major single, "chimes", I've been paying attention to them! Definitely a lot more mainstream. Hahaha, waaaay less eyeliner too. The clothes, makeup, everything is a lot more "normal" and mainstream, haha. Although in "chimes", the bassist (Gou) is still rocking some shocking hair colour. (I can't help but wonder how damaged his hair is. It looks really good from a distance!)
The guitarist, Ryohei, makes quite a convincing girl in the PV. :| He's cuter than I am by leaps and bounds.
I really like the polar bear drummer. ;D
Listened to their second single, "MEMORIES", today. Quite a bit more mellow. To be honest, I like it a lot! I keep playing the video again. Yeah, they might be deviating from their origins, but dammit I like my mainstream music! I'm totally okay with the direction they're heading. Hopefully they keep this up so I can obsess over something other than w-inds. for the first time since high school. ;D Plus w-inds. is heading in a new direction musically, so I need something to fill that empty void in my heart. ;_; (I still like w-inds. a lot, just...I need something other than dance beats!)
...okay, I admit it, I also find the bassist really hot in a bad-boy way (especially in the "MEMORIES" PV - see the part at 1:00!). :D
Hehehehehe! If only he'd lay off the makeup and strange coloured hair more often. Maybe then they'll give him more screen time. :P
