My classmate brought in Krispy Kreme for us yesterday. And hats.
My classmate is cool. The hats are cool. And yes, I need a haircut.
After shopping with Michael (this was back in August), we ended up driving around (wasting time before dinner hours starts...he wanted to go for sushi). Lesson of that day: if neither the driver nor the passenger is good with directions, don't go driving around. :( I'm not even sure where we ended up. Took us a good hour and lots of map-staring to get ourselves back into more urbanized areas and onto a road we were familiar with. Then somehow we turned off that road, and had to spend more time figuring out how to get back on there. >_>
It was really quite...sad. But I *can* read maps! He just wouldn't listen to me.
"Turn left here."
"What, no. We turn right."
"Nooooo, that's where we came from..."
"*turns right*"
"T_____T What are you doing?!"
"It's right, I swear!"
(Five minutes later, we catch sight of the Audi dealer that we had passed by before.)
". . . ."
". . .I told you."
"Beh. *U-turns*"
"T__________T What kind of driver are you..."
I've been meaning to make a picture post. Still haven't done it.
Uhm. It will happen! *bangs fist on table* Sometime. Hm.
Random order! :D
+
Here's a snap of Edith and my biotech poster from back in April/May. :D It's really sad, but I actually wasted over a week on that poster alone. :( Can't remember exact dimensions, but I think it's 4.5' by 3.5'. Bigger? It's not the most awesome thing ever, but uh...I'm still proud of it. T_T Thing costed us almost 80% of our $200 grant. XD
+ I saw
Kurt Wenner at Stampede this year! :D
Here's him working on the picture. And a blurry shot of what the whole picture
looks like when finished. I went on the third day of the Stampede, so there was still a lot left to complete.
+ Gave a feeble attempt at cooking back in August. It didn't
turn out well. :( Should've added waaaaay more sauce and cheese. And, you know...not try to take the easy way out and buy oven-ready...because it just doesn't work very well.
+ Correct me if I'm wrong, but Pocky claims to be
tasty and healthy. Tasty I can understand, but...healthy...? (this may be a claim that Glico makes for all its products. But I didn't see that part on my Glico Collon boxes, so I don't know.)
Mid-Autumn festival was on September 28, so that called for
mooncakes. :DD
I'm not that fond of the new-fangled mooncakes...the ice cream and funky shapes and whatever. I'll take the traditional lotus paste with yolk, thanks.
Double yolk, mmmm. If I remember correctly, this little darling has 800 calories. :P
...my favourite ones are the four-yolk, white lotus ones. I refuse to find out how fat those are. XD
It says "mei sum yue beng" on it. "Mei sum" is the bakery, and "yue beng" is "mooncake".
Salted egg yolk. *__* This bakery's mooncake isn't that great, IMO. It's a well-known, reputable bakery, but my family find their mooncakes too dry.
Ugh. I still have one mooncake left. Must...save...it for later...*fights temptation* T_T
If you've never had mooncake, you should try it! :O
They average CAN$30 a box, which contains four mooncakes.
But maybe most people won't like it. :( From
BWG: "Most Westerners react to their first bite with a predictable expression of dawning horror, followed by a desperate visual search for a place to spit out the morsel without being seen."
Still worth a try. :D I personally love it. If I have a pot of tea to help wash the lotus paste down (mooncakes are really dense), and if I wouldn't get in trouble with my parents, I can easily polish off a box of four. Eaaaaasily. :(
Biggest problem is that it's really filling, but no big deal. TOT So good.
I am going skating tomorrow. :) yes, I should be staying at home doing homework and studying. But hey, it's my friend's birthday.
Trés kick-butt.
