Saw a Private Practice calendar on sale today, and each month has the standard studio character photo with a quote of theirs. I was delighted to find out that Cooper's quote was his "This girl, this love... that's probably it for me" one. And that because there aren't twelve characters for the whole year, they've had to include some ships. The Cooper/Violet page had the "Do I really need a new friend?"/"Not with me around, I'm a lot of friend. I'm like two double patties worth of friend." Only I didn't buy the calendar because I would just have it on those two pages all year and that's quite sad, isn't it?
As a person who is not aligned with either major political party, I've decided that Malcolm Turnbull's Twitters are kind of more interesting than K-Rudd's. (That would be our Opposition Leader and the Prime Minister, respectively. And yes, our PM has a gangsta name.)
Eeeeee! Dylan Moran's doing a stand-up show at next year's Comedy Festival! SO. EXCITED. He's probably the comedian I most want to see live. (For those new to this joint, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival is held for two weeks in March/April and is the world's third largest after the Edinburgh Fringe and Montreal's Just For Laughs. And I'm addicted. I spend a crazy amount of money going because it's just so. much. fun.)
I have an unhealthy obsession with Owen/Cristina. Oh God, when did I get sucked back into Grey's Anatomy? (Um, when Addison and Alex were hot.) They're just awesome.
Real Lifey Bits:
1. One of my high school friends had the genius idea of having a sleepover (something I haven't done since... oh God, Year 10?) and it was tremendous fun. We watched five movies and played Singstar and improvised cocktails. Apparently I kind of pwn at Singstar 'cause I won every song I sang (we played the 'battle' mode). IT TOOK ME TWENTY YEARS BUT I'VE DISCOVERED SOMETHING I'M GOOD AT HUZZAH.
2. Meanwhile, I'm somewhat distressed because my dance studio might close early next year. The kids classes, which make up about half the studio revenue, just lost their teacher and now the kids don't want to come back next year without her. And I'm worried, because the thought of losing it and all the people and teachers makes me feel nauseous.
It's been ages since I've meme'd, but I've been tagged. Thrice.
Tagged by
twentyplanes List the ten most random favorite things of yours you can think of (in the order they come to mind). Then tag up to five people. ME, THE ANTI-TAGGER. (Though steal it if you want.)
1. Making origami boxes at work with the kids. I just sit there and make one, and then another, and another, until I realise I've just made ten and I have nothing to do with them all.
2. Going to bed with fresh sheets.
3. When I was thinking about a song I really like at the moment, get in my car, and it immediately comes on the radio.
4. Getting emails from EzyDVD.com.au. Because it links to pages of cheap DVDs and browsing through them makes me happy.
5.
Tim Tam Slams6. My charcoal suede heeled boots. I just love looking at them.
7. My DSLR camera.
8. Watermelon and frozen grapes on a really hot day.
9. Fat raindrops - not that piss-weak sprinkling.
10. My two earrings trees. (Yeah, I have too many earrings to fit on just one like, y'know, a normal person.)
Tagged by both
cool_rush and
muic (and I think someone else like a month ago), so I combined their slightly-varying questions.
a. people who have been tagged must write their answers on their blog and replace any question that they dislike with a new, original question.
b. tag eight people. don't refuse to do that. don't tag who tagged you. DON'T YOU TELL ME WHAT TO DO, MEME.
01. What are your nicknames?
Most people call me Cec because I live in the Land of Abbreviation and no one can really be arsed saying Cecilia. My primary school friends used to call me C and occasionally I get 'Funky Mix' because of being my Eurasian combination.
02. How do you style your hair?
I straighten it, or else it's a big fuzzball. Not even nice wavy or curly, it's just... boof.
03. What's your favorite or least favorite Christmas song?
Favourite: I always have fun with 'Jingle Bell Rock'. And 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'. Such boppy goodness.
Least: 'Little Drummer Boy'. I'm sorry, but my Grade 1 teacher traumatised me for life. I can't stand it now.
04. How many colours are you wearing now?
Three: purple top from Cotton On, and my black dance pants. And white socks.
05. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
Bit of A, a bit of B. I can't pinpoint one or the other.
06. What was the last book you read?
Can You Keep A Secret by Sophie Kinsella. Fluffy and light, just what I needed.
07. Do you nap a lot?
Nope. If I nap, I end up waking up feeling groggier than I did to begin with, and disorientated because HOLY SHIT DID SOME HOURS OF MY DAY DISAPPEAR ON ME?
08. If the person you secretly like is already taken, what would you do?
Dwell. And I am.
09. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
The uni-work-honours-where-the-fuck-is-my-life-going stressball.
10. What's your favorite dessert?
Prinsesstårta, chocolate mousse, or really good sticky date pudding in winter. Hell, just about anything.
11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
If I'm going to work, about fifteen minutes. Otherwise about half an hour.
12. What websites do you visit daily?
The Age newspaper (my homepage), LJ, my work email, probably YouTube.
13. What relaxes you when you are stressed out?
Dancing, where I can channel all my energy and for that period of time, forget about everything else in life. Or watch 30 Rock because it still makes me laugh like a crazy person.
14. Do you like to clean?
I don't mind it as long as I can have my music on and dance around like an idiot whilst I do it.
15. What was the last song to get stuck in your head?
Running Back by Jessica Mauboy feat. Flo-Rida. I'm not a huge fan of it but that chorus just won't go away.
16. What's the last movie you saw?
Two Weeks Notice tonight, because I needed some light-heartedness and watching the trailer of Sandy's new film The Proposal made me want to watch it, because they have a similar tone.
17. Pirates or Ninjas?
Pirates. Ilu Jack Sparrow.
18. what would you do if you see $100 lying on the ground?
I'd probably pick it up but be plagued by instant guilt. (Actually, my work girls found $50 on the ground on the way to breakfast, so we used it to pay for the food.)
19. Best time of your life?
Probably in 2006 when we all drove down to my friend's beachhouse just after exams finished. I felt like I didn't have a care in the world. Or whenever I'm surrounded by my friends and good food and cocktails and I'm laughing so hard my face hurts.
20. What are you most looking forward to in the coming month?
The 24th December. Christmas Eve is my favourite day of the year. (That's when we do Christmas; Christmas Day is reserved for visiting relatives and I generally dread it.)
Also, I'm not receiving cards for Christmas (long story) but alternatively, if you want to leave me a message/spread some cheer/whatever,
comment here! ♥ (And I'm saving you money with stamps, ha ha ha.) Also, if you have one link me, because I might have forgotten.
