Remember how in
my last entry I flailed about Ricky Gervais and Rob Lowe posing with nerf guns?
THEN THERE'S THIS PICTURE, OMG. (Thanks,
muic!) I wish that website had a feed. Or better yet, appeared on my flist. I can't remember to keep checking it at erratic intervals, honestly.
LOLZ @ Tina and Amy in their Moviefone Unscripted.
In my Print Culture lecture today (my favourite subject at the moment - it's so damn interesting, which makes me sound oddly nerdish because I've never really been like this) the lecturer was discussing the transition from independant bookstores to chains to superstores-of-the-Borders-ilk. And it made me think of that Black Books episode where Manny goes and works at the new bookshop next door to Bernard's. AND THEN MY LECTURER PLAYS THAT EPISODE FOR US. I got so excited, though I had to contain my squee. Watching TV in a lecture = FTFW, yo.
Snagged from the also awesome
bertiebob, originally created by
dsudis. The equally awesome
stop_theworld also did it.
Original explanation: "So I was adding some new interests to my LJ profile and found myself feeling defensive every time I typed a female name, thinking, basically, FUCK YOU, SHE'S AWESOME, because I felt as if someone somewhere was going to be criticizing my love for them.
So, anyway, then I made a list of women who make me want to say FUCK YOU, SHE'S AWESOME. They are far from the only women who are awesome, or the only women people need to be told to step off of, but they are the top teneleven I feel that way about, right now, off the top of my head.
You want to argue with me about the awesomeness of any of these women, I am afraid I will simply be referring you to the subject line. THAT IS ALL."
The "Fuck You, She's Awesome" Meme.
Small But Perhaps Necessary Disclaimer: I'm not referring to anyone on my flist here. If you hate one of these women, that's fine by me. Feel free to hate. I'm just basically talking about the twats on the IMDB boards (which I should really stop reading) with an intellectual level so low you could dig underground for it. ;)
This mess is gonna get raw like sushi, so haters to the left. (Oh go on, I had to say it!)
[AND IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER]
1. Sara Tancredi
And those who don't agree just can't fathom her level of awesomness. That is all.
2. Tina Fey
SHE WAS NOT ENDORSING HILLARY, Y'ALL, so STFU. I thought that was fairly obvious but apparently it went over many people's heads.
3. Callie Torres
She dances in her underwear and knows how to kick serious arse. So she got a leeeetle angsty when she was trying to cling onto her marriage whilst her husband was sleeping with his best friend. How can people hate that?
4. Sandra Bullock
Guess what? She's one of the highest-paid actresses around and yet manages not to get stalked by the paps. And she's actually funny in real life, not just reading off a script - unlike some.
5. Nicole Kidman
I'm not even going to start justifying this one. I'm so sick of the crap she gets flung at by the tabloids.
6. Violet Turner.
She's not over her ex - so she cries about it, what's the problem? She's the first to admit it's pathetic. She isn't the only woman to have ever done that.
7. Missy Higgins
She sings with an accent, DEAL. Why do British/Australian artists have to conform and sound American, anyhow? (Don't get me wrong; sound American if you are American, by all means - there's nothing wrong with that!)
8. Delta Goodrem
She's not my favourite artist, but you can't say she's not talented and can't pen a wide range of songs. Give it up, haters.
And there's a few that are deemed unanimously awesome, but this is just to emphasise their awesomeness.
9. Addison Forbes Montgomery
While I miss her satanic ways, she's in a different situation now, remember? She's not being a tough bitch to the interns, nor is she trying to win her ex-husband back. So, yeah: she's going to be more vulnerable. She's still Addie and I love her.
10. Liz Lemon
No one can hate Liz! She's a homebody, quotes Star Wars, stress eats, not vain in the slightest, and bought a wedding dress in the hope that she'd get married one day. SHE'S ME. (Except I quote her, not Star Wars.)
11. Cate Blanchett
I find it kind of amusing that no one can really critisise her, ever. It's like some unwritten law; you just don't dare do it like you would other celebrities. BUT WHATEVER, 'CAUSE SHE'S A GODDESS.
(I've said the word "awesome" waaaay too many times in this entry.)
Funnily enough this meme would have been a lot easier had it been about men.
Oh, and hey (look, it's even bolded - that's how enthusiastic I am!) to the people I've added in the last week or so. I know you're already very cool, but trip over to my
Friends Introductory and show me just how much. Y'know, if you want to.
