I watched the AFI Awards (that's like the Australian Oscars) whilst making fairy bread and chocolate crackles. How Australian can you get?
But OMG. Cate Blanchett's hair - it looked so good I wanted to eat it. As I did Delta Goodrem's dress (BUT PLEASE. STOP LOOKING SO OVERTANNED) which turns out to be made by the same designers as her Commonwealth Games dress, which, holy crap, is my ultimate dream dress.
And Geoffrey Rush, you're all kinds of hilarious. Especially when you're zooming around, arms outstretched, pretending to be a plane. ♥
But whoa. Dominic Purcell won for Prison Break ahead of Hugh Jackman, Julian McMahon and Eric Bana. That was unexpected. I'd stopped watching at that point - damn, I want to hear his speech now! Rose Byrne also beat Rachel Griffiths and Toni Collette, but I quite like her so it's all good.
Private Practice, 1x09 "In Which Dell Finds His Fight"
1. "I think he may be smarter than us." Hee!
2. a) "I'm going to pretend you didn't just say those things about my wife." "Ex-wife."
b) Chris Lowell = love. He was amazing in this episode.
3. "We're off for tonight. Game over." 'Kay, so hearing that made me rather chipper.
4. "Got that, Jack-Ass?" Hee. Then Pete-Cooper fist... uh, thing. What do you call those little things, anyway? Do they have a name? Hmm.
5. "No sex talk. That's off-limits." "I don't usually talk about it. I'm more of a do-it guy."
6. "I know why you've been ignoring me!" When Violet rushed up to Cooper and he ushers her into his office, a little part of me inside burst. But why do they always, always cut their scenes short? It's like, they stop mid-conversation and flick to the next scene. Gah. Everyone else gets the whole walking-out-of-the-room thing but them.
7. Either I'm reading into this way too much, or Amy Brenneman's subtlety is fantastic. I'm going with the latter. That pause between, "If this is why you've been avoiding me, don't" and "I'm happy for you, I am" - So. Freaking. Loaded.
8. "I still wanna hang out with you. (aww) It's not a big thing." "Exactly! So don't be a freak!"
9. And Dell! Did anyone's jaw just drop when he kissed Naomi? *raises hand* Oh God, he's just the cutest thing. Except I shouldn't say that because he's not a kid, remember? Right. And while I love Sam/Naomi because of their whole divorced-but-we-still-love-each-other thing, Dell/Naomi is dangerously different. And I like it.
10. And the end scene with all the boys pining/fighting left me hanging for more. And the fact that I crave more Cooper/Violet because we got about 0.2745 seconds of them. Damn, this show is like a drug. AND ONLY ONE MORE EPISODE LEFT, I CAN'T STAND IT. *sobs*
