I just came home from school and I have the same feeling which I used to have on the first day of holiday when I was still at school... It's so strange, of course I'm happy but somehow can't believe the year is gone (already). We teachers still had a cup of coffee and cake (and a glass of sparkling wine) after the kids were gone. And this evening some of us will meet in the city. One of the good things in working as a teacher is that you can't miss the seasons changing. Christmas and spring are always very important at school but for example J barely notices them both in his work.
It's J's birthday and his father just called that their grandmother died last night. It's the grandmother in whose apartment we've been living here. So she's practically lived in a hospital for the past 4 years and hasn't been in a very good condition anymore but death always somehow surprises. Well, we are still going to celebrate J in the evening.
Should book the flights to Germany asap so that we still get them in a reasonable price. We must fly back to Finland the day after the wedding but that's alright. We can fly there a bit earlier then.
Japan in two weeks and our knowledge of the places we definitely want to see is still quite limited... Luckily I have the next weeks time to read and plan.
I'll visit my grandmother on Wednesday next week and go to my parents from there. A few days there should be enough again.
Happy summer everyone :) .
